I cried in Target yesterday...

I cried in Target yesterday...

I know I havent been on here too much lately but I know you girls will definitely understand why I cried in Target ...

So I went to Target on my lunch hour to get a few odds and ends and I decided to go look for an anniversary card since our anniversary is next week. I started reading the cards and they just all got to me. I cannot believe I have been married for a whole year already! Its crazy how fast time goes! Seems like yesterday I was posting my countdown at like 300 days to go on here. Our first year was not an easy one and we faced a lot of obstacles...personal issues, illnesses and death in the family, house issues etc.

To sum up our year it pretty much s ucked, or so I thought. But then I started to think about the positive things, like our first 'marrieds'... our first married Thanksgiving that I cooked for the whole family...our first married Christmas where money was so tight we bought each other one gift...our first married vacation together since the wedding...These are the things I hope I remember as we get to our 30, 40, and 50th wedding anniversary. Sure it was a rough year but we also did have some positive things happen too. I have confidence that since we were able to overcome these obstacles in our life together that we will be able to overcome anything. Im so blessed to have such an awesome DH by my side throughout this journey of life.

Reading all these cards really meant something to me and it hit home. And I did end up getting the perfect card for DH. After the card aisle I hit the tissue aisle on my way out lol

That's a cute little post!!

I can't help but feel a lot of the same things. Our first year together as a married couple has been quite tumultuous so far. I'm really hoping for some good things to start coming our way so we can happily look back on those times instead. You never know what the first, second, third, etc years together will bring. But just as Gina said... hopefully they bring you closer together... even the bad times. And even though we had some REALLY bad things happen, they certainly did bring us closer together and stronger as a couple.

Awww... its surreal when you realize a whole year has passed. I will not give up this hectic past year! Remember this is the beginning of something soo beautiful and sacred. I notice I'm experiencing the same emotions when I think of our 1yr anniversary. Take advantage and embrace ur day with your dh....

Love isn't measured by hugs and kisses, but in struggles and pains. Those who can work through those, they posses true love.

What is meant to be will ALWAYS find a way.

never let a good day go unnoticed or a bad day unchallenged.

Happy almost 1 year!

Oh No, I am going to walk over and buy my card in a few minutes...

Looking back, the best advice I got about getting married was from my youngest aunt (who is happily married for over 20 years), she said 'The first year of marrige will be the hardest year of your life'...that got me through a lot of the 'adjustments' that had to be made as part of working together as a couple and just simply growing up and being a real adult. I realized it wasnt just me and it was the natural growing process...it made me feel much better. Couldn't be happier this week, DH even made fun of me bc I have been giggling after everything I say..hehe

Re: I cried in Target yesterday...

I totally feel you..
DH and I are having a rough start due to a a death, two divorces, and other financial nonsense.
We are still strong though and it makes me happy inside we are standing strong TOGETHER.
Plus I am having my firsts as a Step Mom.
It can be rough at times but also so rewarding.
I actually had my SD say to me'help me with this cut and no excuses...you are a Mom now so get used to it'

ps: all my friends say first year is roughest!
