I feel so dumb right now...

So, I FINALLY had an appt this afternoon to see a neurologist for my dizziness/vertigo. My primary care doc had given me a Rx-looking paper w/ the Neuro eval on it. Well, I dont know what I was thinking, but for some reason I thought that WAS the referral. I've done this a million times, I KNOW what a referral is and how to get one! So the Neuro couldnt see me today And my primary care office is closed on Wednesdays so we couldnt even call them to get the referral now!

I burst into tears in the office when the lady was telling me this. I feel like SUCH a moron! It's totally my own fault and I am not handling it well. I had to take a Xanax before coming back to work. So now my appt is re-scheduled for Tuesday (they had to squeeze me in b/c the Neuro is going on vacation!). I am calling my primary care tomorrow morn to get the referral. I cant believe how stupid I was and how upset I am over this...

Sorry, just needed to vent.

awwww sweetie, don't feel dumb. Like the other girls said it's just a simple mistake, and it is. It's an understandable mistake! :) I know you wanted to get some answers , but at least you just have to wait until next tuesday. Not too far away !

Aww you are not dumb. It was a simple mistake due to all the stress you're under. Hopefully you can get the referral tommorrow and go in this week for your appointment.

i had something similiar happen to me except i got the refferrel. I got the online version. The podiatrist i went to didn't use computers so it was basically like going to the doctors without a referral. the doctors office made me feel so stupid.

Thanks for all your hugs and reassurances, girls! I hate that I let stuff like this get to me, but its like, before I can even tell myself not to get upset, the tears are already there So annoying! I am Miss Sensitivity that is for sure! DH calls me his 'Sensitive/Emotional (he chooses whichever one fits at the time) Buns' LOL!

that is why i hate hmo's. It has happened to probably everyone at some point. Dont feel bad over it, s h i t happens. At least they can get you in on Tues, just a few more days
