I want to throw something. I ahve worked all night trying to create a smokey eye look-tutorials make it look easy but I CANNOT GET IT! I just can't pull it off. My tombstone will read 'Death by Black Liner.'

-sighs- anyone have any application tips? I tried YouTUbe but its not working well.

sorry it's not working for ya...how about you go to sephora, drag pete with you, and videotape how one of the consultants creates the smokey eye look?

lol yeah go to one of the makeup dept in any department store and ask them to create it for u! and get a little tutorial... clinique and mac, dior are usually friendly..

i am NO help. i hardly ever wear make up. when i do its really just some foundation & lipstick.

smoky eye shadow looks silly on me, i look like i'm a 12 year old playing dress up with her mommy's makeup

chickie are you looking up different tutorials? i just clicked on hers and it looked kinda interesting! i don't have the tools to try it out, but she says it's the *easiest* one to do in less than 5 min...

easy.. put brown and black eyeliner on and than insert either visine or finger in eye.. I am sure you will get the result your looking for!

Without a doubt the funniest thing I have ever heard of to apply makeup.

I feel ya Jenn, I do it and just dont like the way it looks on me...that is more my issue, I think the blending is really really important.

I love how you always volunteer one of us for things!!!! I am down!!!! There's a big Sephora in TImes Square like on 45th or so. I'm sure we could get someone to show you how.

Or maybe even in Macy's at Herald Square - at the Mac counter or another. It's a go!

maybe you need to just step away from it for a day or two. i think getting frustrated and upset over it is making it more dificult to find the right combo for you. there has to be some sort of smokey look that will look good for you! i mean i know its hard finding the right look with your skin tone--but we know there are ways to do it since you're not the first tanned chica around!

Thanks Mel. I know. I am just irked. I think finding the right shades is the first battle. Like I tried the plum shades I usually use which look good one me but I ended up looking like I'd been ina prizefight lmao-two black eyes. UGH!

I need to get the application right...I am going to make cupcakes instead and eat one with gusto, pretending I dont have to fit into lingerie this time next weekend lmao.
