I have to share: I'm sooo happy, I can hardly contain myself I was just offered a long-awaited transfer/promotion at my company!! I've waited about 2 years for this!

Lisa- definitely, I will take the train there - it is coming home I am more concerned. I would have to go back into Penn and 2 subways home - by myelf at night - - it would be at least 1.5-2 hours...so it would be a little tuff for a Thursday night..so I figured if someone was headed my way it would then be do-able...if not I am sure there will be others - eventually I will get a drivers license....my goal for the spring/summer.

mickeya1a-I can take either the N/W or R train....the N/W runs thru LIC/Astoria and the R goes to Forest Hills.

You guys are all great in trying to help me! Please don't go crazy though!

could you take a cab from penn station once you get in...penn station is usually very safe

There's a Friday's in Westbury, like Teri said. I know there is an Applebee's in New Hyde Park. How about Chile's or Ruby Tuesday's - both in Westbury.
Or we can do BK Sweeney's again!

Hmmmm .... I'm trying to think of a pub-like place in this vicinity! Any other suggestions?
