I guess I can kiss those 'you look so young' comments goodbye……

Because this morning I found a WHITE hair on my head!! It was pretty short, but there it was, right smack in the middle of my scalp, I pulled it out and put it in a ziploc bag to show DH later! I know, I know.... I'm nuts!

I could swear I have some but i'm protesting...I keep coloring my hair to avoid that day

I find them everyday. Pluck those suckers right out!!

i wish i only had one white hair. i've been getting whiter and whiter since i'm 24 i tried to stop dying my hair, but after cutting it and seeing all my whites, i realized i will be coloring my hair for the rest of my life.

ETA: remember the SATC episode about your secret single behavior? mine was that i would be in the mirror for hours plucking all the white ones i would find. i actually have fun plucking them all out, and no longer care if DH sees me doing it

honey I've been chasing the grays away for YEARS now, I should have bought L'oreal stock when I first started dying my hair I've given them so much money by now. I'm lucky enough to have this wonderful family trait from both sides of growing gray really early. Good times.

The first is traumatic though.

I have to color my grays b/c they are all in the front on the top of my head. If they were hidden in the back I wouldn't mind so much, but there is a patch on the right top side that I can't stand!!!!

I couldn't believe it, I was looking to see if I liked how my hair turned out and THERE IT WAS! Now, I have a bunch all in the front.

I refuse to dye my hair so hopefully I look like the lady from What Not To Wear soon

thanks for the input ladies!!! you're making me feel better!! I guess I'm more freaked out b/c my mom's hair is still pretty much black, and she's 65!! here I am at 28 plucking out white ones! lol and I haven't colored my hair in about 3-4 years, so I'd rather not go that route if I don't have to (at least not until after I have kids, so I don't have to keep up with it all the time!).

for those of you that have them already (gray or white hairs)....at what age did they first show up?

OMG you are too cute w/ the SATC reference!!! plucking is fun......I used to try and 'get at' DH's eyebrows, but I always hurt him so now he gets waxed to avoid his uni-brow!

mid to late 20's maybe.....I know i was way out of college....i'm going to say I was around 26. I'm going to be 32 in October ( ) so I've been dying my hair for a while now.

Oh Helen don't even sweat it!!!!!! If your mom's still got her natural color, chances are you'll stay a dark beauty for many years to come!!!

I have that 'Irish Hair' too, very dark but went gray early and it REALLY shows if I skip a coloring; Pregnancy has been interesting, I've done highlights which are safe and I've used non-ammonia based (safe) color, but going 6 weeks in between root touchups is TOO LONG so I get to feel HUGE AND OLD, simultaneously!!! Yippeee!!!

DH's dad's hair has been white for a long time, and his older brothers are chock full 'o gray, so I know its only a matter of time.....by the time we have kids, we'll both be looking like grandparents

I've had grays for years; but I started coloring my hair around high school (then it was for fun though ). if I go too long though I get a BUNCH right at the crown. I probably got my first in my mid 20s b/c i feel like they've been around for a while.

on your hair color though gray doesn't really show up that much so you're lucky. mine's dark so you see them right away. Oh and I also get one right in the front. THAT sucker gets plucked.

I pluck them out if I notice one or two or more.. Thankfully blonde hair and highlights make them less noticeable
