Camille, I am so proud of you for starting a topic of the day.
We kept all cards we received. I had one of those bags that my mom bought for me to put them in, on the wedding day, that is exactly what they are in. They are all very nice

I save everything! I have all of our engagement cards, wedding cards, new parent cards, new baby cards, Mother's day/Father's day (our very first ones!) and christening cards - you NAME it, I HAVE it!
Edited to add - I saved my bridal and baby shower cards too. And, the wedding response cards are priceless - so many people wrote such nice things to us! I wouldn't part with any of those!
Since DH and I were long distance for the first year of our relationship, we sent a lot of cards to one another. We still have all of them! We even keep some Valentine and birthday cards...I am a sap for a beautiful card, and cannot part with sentimental stuff.
But, I also saved one of the baby's newborn-sized diapers and the first jar of baby food that he ate. I cannot help it! My name is Claudine and I have a problem!

So I guess asking whether I should save all of my response cards would get me a 'yes' from the savers in the group. But, to ask it anyway, did anyone NOT keep these and then regret it afterwards. I just HATE clutter!!!!

I'm saving them. I think it will be fun to look back on them 20 years down the road. I'll be glad I kept them.

I still have them, along with all the engagement and shower cards. They are all in a big box. Once we get the house they will probably go into storage in the basement. Sometime down the road maybe on an anniversary I hope we will remember to pull them out re live our wedding day.

I threw most of them out. I realized that I can't save everything.
I threw away our engagement cards and most of our wedding cards. I also threw away the response cards.
I used to save all of my birthday cards and other cards but I just don't have the space to save that type of stuff.

I saved all of them: dating, b'day, first everything, engagement, shower, wedding, and now first anniversary -- you name it. I might look like my father, but I'm my mother's daughter in that sense!!! She still has all my baby cards and 1st b'day cards!!! It's funny looking at it now and seeing what people said way back then!!! Just throw them in a rubber maid and shove them in the back of the closet!!!

I saved all our cards. I considered throwing them out, but the night before our wedding, I was reading through my parents wedding cards and it was so interesting and fun. I thought in 30 years, I may want to re-read mine (or maybe our daughter will).

I dumped the response cards -- basically because people wrote nothing 7 just checked a box -- or those that did wrote something to the effect of 'can't wait'...
As far as the cards we got -- ditto! Most just addressed them. The only card that included a personal note was from one of my BM, and that one I'm saving....
Meanwhile I just realized that I have a box with old letters & cards that I've gotten over the years tucked away in the attic somewhere -- which including cards that I've gotten from ex-boyfriends.... I think it' time to do a bit of 'house cleaning' before the hubbie get home!!!

I kept everything and I haven't really gone through the box of things yet. Maybe I will do that soon but I doubt I will be throwing out any of the cards. Maybe the response cards I will throw out since nobody really wrote anything.

So far we've kept just about everything from engagement cards, response cards and gift cards. I just can't part with it all yet. My husband keeps calling me a pack rat but I just can't do it yet.

I save, too... Although, I think I might start tossin' some of the old stuff (like Sweet 16 birthday cards) when we move into the house!!
No plans to part w/ ANY of the wedding stuff!!

I have one decorative box that holds the cards (tied with silk ribbon of course ) and other memorabilia from the wedding - favor boxes, programs, etc.
I also save special cards from other events - birthday, etc. particularly if it has my favorite theme - teddy bears! Hubby has a whole envelope of 'bear' cards I've given him.

I received a handmade memory book from one of my artist friends at work. I put all the Wedding cards and Engagement cards in there (using acid free glue) and put the book on the coffee table.
I've kept my response cards for now, along with all my 'planning' files. I'll probably toss those in a year, but since I had room in the portable file, I kept them.

kept them!
The few engagement cards, the shower cards, the response cards and the wedding cards. Robs Aunt mande a treasure box for me and all the wedidng cards are in there along with some receipts and my master guest list - that has everything on it incuding the gift they gave for the shower and wedding!
Guess I will weed thru it someday- but more likely I will not. I found some cards my mom received congratulating her on her new little girl-ME! and those items mean a lot to me= esp since mom died when I was 22.

I have all our wedding cards, engagement cards, shower cards, and response cards. I also have all the cards DH has given me over the years. I just can't part with them. I think it'll be nice to look back and see what people wrote to us a few years down the line. I have a big plastic bin that I'll put everything into. That's the project for this week. . .
