I'm sure many of you have heard of the house that exploded in Queens. It turned out to be 3 of my students at my after school's home. They are on the front page of the NY DAILY NEWS today. They lost everything and their mom. I'm so upset they boys are in 1,4,& 5th grade Kevin, Ryan and Chris. The family came to the church for our wedding I took a few pictures with them I will post later. They were so happy to be there for us on our wedding day. On Thursday I gave the youngest boy Chris our thank you card for being at the church. And the last thing I said to him when he was walking out was make sure you give that to your mom. I just can't stop crying. They are such a wonderful family. news

OMG I'm so sorry.
ETA: I wish i had something more to say. This is so devastating. All you can do is be there for those boys. Hug them, let them know that they are loved and that their mother will always be with them. Maybe your school can start a fund for them, and start having parents donate anything they can since they lost everything. I feel terrible for you

I sent and e-mail to my boss to send a notice home to the other parents so we can start giving them things they need. I also wanted to start a bake sale to send them some money.

I hadn't heard about this until now and omg, how horrible! It looks like they still don't even know what caused it.
Many many prayers go out to that family I can't even imagine.
