i just ate raw chicken, what do i do??

i ordered a grilled chicken wrap for lunch, and 1/2 way through my first 1/2, the chicken was raw!! i have no idea what to do. i already returned it and they threw away all their chicken, but what can happen to me??

Call your doctor to let them know, your pregnant right? I would just in case. I don't think there is anything that you can do...except give them holy hell!

OMG! Was it MC Donalds??? This happened to my DH. He bit into a raw Chicken sandwich. Thank God he spit it out! It made me so sick I couldnt eat. All they did was give us a refund.

it's bad enough having non-stop nausea, now i have to deal with this. from what i can find on line, if i get salmonella poisoning, i'll be in bad shape for a couple of days, but the baby will not be harmed. i cannot believe this happened!

how raw was it. I'm a chicken nut so if its not flaky and dried out, i wont eat it. But sometimes even when its a little pink in the middle, but mostly flaky, DH says its ok to eat and it is.

I would call your Dr though. And the idiots at the place you bought it from!!!!

it was a little pink in the middle. it was cold chicken, and the texture in the middle was also a litle off. it's from my work cafeteria, i get the same wrap all the time. they didn't even seem surprised when i told them it was raw.

I would let the doctor know too but i think you should be ok. Just becuase its raw doesnt necessarily mean you will get sick so hopeully you will be fine.

I agree, call you doctor and check with them just to be safe. It may not have been bad enough to make you sick, but just to give you peace of mind with the baby.

Lets hope you didnt eat enough to make you sick (if thats possible).

Please call your OB and let them know! See what they say.

you might have some nausea/vomitting and diarrhea. I would do what the rest of the girls suggested and definitely call your OBGYN, other than that I think I remember hearing tums are ok for pregnant woman to take for upset stomachs. Maybe try a few of those. I can't believe they served you raw chicken!

was thinking- drink a lot of fluids to flush out your system- I think its pretty unlikely that you will get sick, but on the off-chance, this will help

thanks everyone!!

i just called the dr, and they said i should be fine, but to drink plenty of fluids to be sure everything gets flushed out, and to call back if i start to vomit or get diarreha. she said most likely though i'll be fine. let's hope she's right!

glad to hear that. I hope you're feeling okay!!! That would definitely scar me for life. lol. I'd be checking my meat like a MANIAC afterwards if that ever happened to me.

I was just about to tell you to make yourself throw up. Esp since your prego. I know sounds nasty but sticking your fingers in your throat always works
