stop taking the pill to get it out of my system??

I was wondering when I should go off to- we dont want to start trying at least until 2010- but I was wondering at what point you should stop taking bc to get it out of your system too

My OB/GYN advised me to be off the pill for 3 months before we start trying.

I've heard that it doesn't matter but my OB said to get off of it 6 months prior to trying, I was on it for 10+ years.

I recently told my gyno that we wanted to start trying in Jan.2010. and he told me to stop taking it after my new six month prescrip was done. So that would be in Sept. that I would stop taking it.

You should stop it about 3 months before to completely get it out of your system.
Be careful though b/c you are also very fertile during this time period as well :)

My mom got pregnant with me immediately after going off the pill, and I'm just wonderful. I don't t hink you need to 'get it out of your system.'

I asked my obgyn this last month. She said the pill is metabolized almost immediately after taking it. With in a few days of not taking it the pill it out of your system.

yeah its not that its BAD for you. they just want you to get it out so you have a few normal cycles and they can figure out how far along you are when you DO get pregnant.

I have a friend who went off the pill and got preggo the next month! And she was on the pill forever.

As a rule of thumb I have head it stays in your system for a few months so I'd give it 3-6 months.
