so my Uncle called to tell me he will give me his blackjack since he just got the iphone, so that's cool very excited I don't have to pay for a new phone now. Here is my question though.....My Dad still pays for my cell phone through his work (our whole family is on it) If I want them to turn this phone on....can they do that without my Dad there (sound like a 5 year old) and without my SIM card (since obviously I don't have it) & my number should stay the same, right??

Re: I lost my cell phone
Oh no I would hate that I am so sorry. Did you call your provider and arrange for a new phone?
I hope you erased all those topless photos you like to send me.

PIMP Devon make sure you call your carrier and have them suspend your service~otherwise who knows what kind of calls someone will be making from your phone. Like sending topless photos to randoms (see above) if you have insurance you can call them and tell them you lost it and they will replace it
Good Luck, I definitely know how nekkid you feel...DH lost my phone last year and it was like I was missing my arm

Re: I lost my cell phone--- I Have a QUESTION now....
Your number will stay the same ... and I think you should be able to call it in yourself - they are gonna ask you to take out the battery, and read them the serial number in the back of the phone .. and then they activate it once they verify that its not stolen. (I lost my phone once - and then got it back bc the person who found it tried to activate it and Verizon didnt let them!)
In regards to your father having to call it in .. Im not sure - it all depends on the way the account is set up ... like he might have it set up that hes the primary account holder, but allows anyone to make any changes ... or he could have it set up that only he can make changes. BUT .. you can just call your service provider - and if they tell you your dad has to call .. then I guess you have to wait for him to do it for you
hope this helps!

If you reported the phone right away then they cut off the sim card and you'll be able to keep your number. The only annoying thing is, if you saved all your numbers to the card then those are lost. I lost my Blackberry a few months ago and didnt know what to do with myself. Oh and as far as the account is depends on how your dad set it up. I was on a plan with DH's cousin and they would ask me her last 4 digits of her SSN cause I wasnt a primary user. But then she made me one and calling was a snap.

Who is your carrier? Yes your number can stay the same you will just have to get a new sim card. Its $25 (DH said that he will do it for you if you without your dad-if you want to go all the way to sayville) The replacement phone has to be an At&t phone. The only thing is you have lost your numbers unless you had a Blackberry~if thats the case your numbers should be backed up on your desktop manager and if you put the data on the blackjack you can get all your info back<~hope that made sense
Let me know

This isnt the case Verizon runs on CDMA ~ meaning there is no sim card in the phone. She has a sim which can be taken out and put into any phone.

If you are an authorized user on your dad's account, then yes, you can call and ask for the ESN change.
Are you on Verizon or Cingular? If Verizon, you need to request an ESN (dec) change. If Cingular, they may ask you for the IMEI # of the new phone. They will just need to update your account (specific to your phone) with a new SIM card # so you can get international service.

Re: I lost my cell phone--- I Have a QUESTION now....
how did you all know these things....Well Peg, i know how you do but wow.
ok, so i'm an at&t user (maybe the only one under the sun who is lol but verizon never worked at my house) I called the lady to confirm everything you ladies told me and she said I need the new SIM# card, theIMEI # but she said she could connect to it, if for some reason I can't fine the # & the last 4 digits of my dads ss#. Yey!
