i may regret this but.....

... i really want other ppl's opinion about this

due to the fact that there COULD be lurkers on here, i will spare details

me & DH were at a family party over the weekend. it was out @ a hall (not an overly classy type hall, but nice enough) it had the whole 9 yards with DJ, open bar etc...

so after dinner, a good number of people got up to dance and i stand up to go to the bar and i notice that there is a woman CHANGING HER CHILD'S DIAPER AT THE TABLE behind us!!!

she wasnt even being discrete about it either... it was just BAM right there - like she didnt even care!!! her kid looked to be fairly old too - i'd say around 3

i was VERY disturbed by this sight and would like to know how other's feel about this

I agree that it was inappropriate. What would really bother me about it, is the whole hygeine thing, that she changed the baby on a table where food was being served..Some people have no shame or common sense/courtesy

I agree with you. 110%!!!...a 3 year old's diaper should be changed in the bathroom. I'm sure there was a changing table. I'm not a mom so forgive me if I'm out of line, but....shouldn't a 3 year old be potty trained??

Re: i may regret this but.....

it is extremely unsanitary to change a diaper in the same place that food is being served - unacceptable!!!!!!!!!

it would be different if you were at a picnic or something and there were no bathrooms around - even a hallway would have been a better option!

I just dont see how anyone can say anything differently. . ..

You never know...

I hate to say, not being a parent, but I don't really think it's appropriate either. I think I would ask if there was somewhere else I could do it, maybe if I could go in the bridal suite. Well, I don't think I would take a child that young to a wedding anyway.

God the only worse would have been if she changed the kid & then whipped out her boob to breastfeed him at the table

so kidding!

but ewwww who changes a diaper at a table, if I was sitting at that table, I think I would have left

That really is gross. If it was a newborn and she was changing him in the holder on the floor that would be ok (I have seen this done) but a 3 year old!!!! Yuck 3 yr olds go potty like an adult. That is gross.

I am with you on that. I understand that bathrooms are not always the best place to change , but right on the table like that ??? most public places have changing tables , and if not at least lay down a diaper blanket ( at least that's what i think they are called ) on a chair , not directly on the table.

I don't want to see/smell/witness poopie times its just gross.

I agree! Sidenote, this Chinese restaurant that my DH and I go to changed the name to 'Bo Bo' platter. I wonder if someone was offended.
