I miss it!! I miss it all! All the planning, all the excitement, even all the stress! I am seriously having post wedding depression!
I keep trying to keep myself busy, but it's not the same.
I keep saying I can't believe it's all over. DH says it's not over, it's only just beginning. He just doesn't get it.:

I don't miss the stress at the week or two before the wedding when we had to run around to meet all the vendors to finalize everything.

I hear that, but it's just so sad that after a year and a half of planning it is over so quickly.

Re: I miss it!
I went through that too. I distracted myself by planning vacations
(also we had a cocktail party in a jazz club here in SF for our local friends to celebrate with us. It gave me something to still plan/organize and look forward to after the honeymoon. It was on our 1 month anniversary)

Dont worry - in a few weeks some other interest will fill your time.
Honestly, I used to think 'how will i fill my time after the wedding is over?' but I have less free time now than I ever did.
Plus - you still have a lot of wedding stuff left to do right? Albums, thank yous, etc.

Re: I miss it!
That's true, I will still have to do the album and the bloody thank you's.
Funny, Heather, I will be planning my parents surprise 40th wedding anniversary! I have over a year for that, though.

You will get into other things and you wont feel like this long. I missed it too after my wedding, but now I am busy with other things. Seeing how stressed my friend is over her wedding next week (she planned it all in two months) I dont miss that panic feeling of getting everything done in time.

Re: I miss it!
I think it's only natural to miss the planning and after 8 months I myself am just getting over it. (I had my wedding reception at JA's too by the way! Glad to hear you had a great day.) I was so busy at work and with the albums and thank yous I didnt realize it but then things slowed down and I was like what do I do now!
I think that planning a wedding is a huge event and takes up so much time and it encompassed so much of our energy. Find a new hobby, maybe go back to school or plan a trip or party, and just start to enjoy your marriage.....before you know it you will be over it. Good luck.
(edit to say- weddings are excitement and being a bride is one of the most exciting times in a womans life so its only natural to be down after the party so to speak is over.)

Re: I miss it!
Paiz I'm with you!!! Us April 26 girls must be going through the same withdrawal! I feel so out of it since back from the honeymoon... SO TIRED, and I am just so bored! At work I was constantly juggling all my work as well as keeping on top of all the wedding stuff... now that I just have work to do it's boring!!! And I have to agree I really miss it all... the last dance we danced to 'time of your life' and that's when it hit me... it's over.... all the planning and excitement... but I know most people feel like this after its over... do you feel weird when you go on brides helping brides... I feel like I'm the outcast now :) I posted my review, not sure if you saw it, just read yours yesterday.. talk about the weather huh??? CRAPPY!!! But looks like we both had an amazing day!!! Can't wait to see your pics from photographer when you get them back! We were probably in the same area on our honeymoon, what ports did you go to???

Re: Kitten79
Just read your review - your pics are gorgeous (and of course, so are you!!!) It does sound like we both had perfect days despite the weather. Thank G*D for our churches! Otherwise, I don't know what we would have done for BP pics.
I can't get back into the swing of things at work. I don't want to be here. I want it to be April 24 again - when we had our rehearsal dinner - and do it all again!!!
Yes, the day was perfect despite the fact that the weather completely S**KED!!!! What really kills me is that it was nice the day before and the day after. I had an afternoon wedding, so it was an all rain event. At least we can go out again w/ the photographer to get some shots @ the park and @ John Anthony's with the waterview.
We were in the Southern Caribbean. We went to St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Antigua, St. Lucia and Barbados. We cruised on Royal Caribbean Adventure of the Seas - what a ship!!! It was HUGE! We'd never cruised before and I have to say it was such a wonderful experience!
I do feel weird on BHB, but I do feel like I can be of help to them. I'm actually a little jealous of them, too, they are all still so excited and still have that tone of anticipation in their posts.
I hope this is temporary. Maybe getting my proofs will help. Maybe winning the lottery would help!! I'm telling you, we should all go into the bridal consultant business so we can live vicariously through future brides!

I thought I would miss it too, but I am SO busy! Between unpacking (we didn't touch any of our shower gifts - saved them all till after the wedding!) and cleaning and scanning pictures (lol) and working and now house hunting I feel like I am SO busy! And I think Mitch and I still talk about the wedding everyday - that helps! Do you have pics you can scan? I don't remember seeing any!

Re: I miss it!
I do have some pics, I have to get my butt in front of the computer at home, instead of at work and get some on here!
I've decided I'm going to start redecorating our apartment. I'm sure that will keep me busy.
I'm also going to start stalking my photographer! LOL!

Re: I miss it!
I was just saying this to Mary last night ... I missed it too & thought I would have the post-wedding blues for a while, but honestly, it passes. I got involved in the house, then the proofs came in .... that was so exciting, seeing all of my friends who I'd neglected b/f the wedding .... I finally had my social life back!! And time for myself!
And now, forget it .... with the baby coming ... who's got time to worry about anything?!

That's great, Christine, send some baby dust my way. DH (Vinny) and I hope to be starting a family soon, too!
