I need an idea...help

So the women in my DH's family are having a Christmas party on Sunda, only for the ladies....but we have to make a hat, wrap it, then we're playing some game and whatever hat you end up with, you have to wear it.
Does anybody have any ideas? I really don't want to spend too much $$$ on this...or my time for that matter. I have a white baseball hat that says Bride on the front with a veil hanging from it, but I can't decide what to do with it or should I start with another hat and decorate that one?...I'm so not creative, but maybe you gals are.
