I need excel help please

I need to print a spreadsheet showing the lines, boxes, cells- whatever they are called. They sem to not be shown. What do I click to get them to show up? thanks!

File, Page Set up, Sheet, click grideline box

That will show all gridlines

If you only want to show gridelines in a certain area then I have different instructions!

right click go to format cells, and then you will see a box that shows borders, click both the outside borders and inside borders, once you see it you will know what i mean. Once you do this it will go through

Click the worksheet.
On the File menu, click Page Setup, and then click the Sheet tab.
Select or clear the Gridlines check box.
Click Print.

this is the best way to do it; you need to check the gridline box

is it excel 2007? just asking bc can be different.

Theres obviously a couple of way to do things. I forgot to mention that just highlight the whole area you want to use the lines for, i gave you the shortcut which is basically just right click and go to formal cells, then it will show you a pic of a box with outside lines only and then a box with inside lines only, just click those 2 boxes and will automatically do it for you.

But you can do it through page set up, or going to formal cells on the toolbar

I ahve no idea. I cant get it to work. :( Its probably the simplist thing and i cant figure it out. My boss needs it a certain way. I dont even know what year it is. everytime I use excel somewhere its different

so what did you do and didnt work?

Highlight the area you want to use the lines. Then just right click and choose format(if its 2007 will say format cells), you will have a dialog box pop up. Theres a few tabs, click the borders tab. On there you will see 3 boxes, one without lines, then 2 that will even say on it outside lines, inside lines. Click both the outside lines box and the inside lines box. After that just click ok and it will do it. This should work.

and how does he need it? sometimes the top part is not supposed to have lines, if so then just dont select that part and highlight only the rest of the area. To highlight the area, just click on the first box where you want to start the lines and just drag while still holding the left mouse button down and will highlight it

ladies thanks for your help and suggestions! I ended up just starting a new worksheet and doing what Denise said and it worked. Thanks!!!!




Now I need to learn french. people keep calling and just speaking to me in french and Im not sure how to respond or what they are saying or what the actual message is.....

glad you finally got it. Oh and forgot to say that next time you need to highlight the whole area, just hit CTRL+A at the same time and highlights everything.
