I am more than annoyed. I am the assistant for the CEO of my dept. now one of the managers below my boss frequently requests for me to set up meetings for him.
Please keep in mind I am not his secretary!!!!
How can I put that nicely to him in an email. I have enough work to do, I deal with too many vendors, people with my agency to continue to do this.
Work part is he tells his staff to tell me to send the meeting out...why the hell can't he tell his staff to do it! Sorry for venting but it gets on my nerves.
Any suggestions?

Re: I NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have you tried speaking with your boss about it...is he aware of this? I would recommend it come from your boss directly rather than you, then nothing could be said, you know what I mean.

Re: I NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My boss has screamed at other managers before for trying to do the same thing..lol. I dont want to make this a big deal if I can just tell him directly, plus my boss has his own issues (he's a very busy man). I just dont want to sound rude...I have a hard problem sugar coating when I dislike something.

Re: I NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have to much to do. I am an assistant which should be a salary of its own and am a Buyer for our Dept. another salary on its own, plus I have to take care of so many BS things around here because everyone turns to me...even fixing the paper jam of the photo copy machine! LOL....I love my boss and working for him, if only I didn't have to deal with stupid people...if only they went away

Re: I NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is totally annoying! I understand that you dont want to bother your boss and you say that your bos has yelled at people before for doing these sort of things so maybe you could politely say 'Im sorry I wouldnt mind doing that but I am already backed up with Bosses work so I just cant'. If you say that a cple times maybe he'll get the hint

Re: I NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
just be strait with him, tell him you have your own work to do, that you can not take on his task for him. that he needs to schedule his own appt. or find someone else.

Thank you ladies, I will def address it to him when he come to me next time, I will even suggest that if his staff cannot assist him that he put in for a secretary

Re: I NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know you're boss is really busy but I would let your boss handle it. You wouldnt want the other manager to think that you 'wont go outside the scope of your job'. The only thing that I can say is, 'Mr X, as much as I would love to help you I am tied up with projects for Mr Z for the rest of the day. If you'd like I can put in for you to get a secretary to help you out as well' or something like that.
