Did you guys group people together becaues they knew each other. Like cousins with cousins, family with family, friends with friends?
My FH thinks we should mix everybody up to get people talking and meeting new people.
I think we should group people who know each other so they will be comfortable.

What have your experiences been?
All opinions welcome!
You all have been through this so I posted here. Hope you don't mind.
I'll be joining you in less than 5 weeks!
Thanks all!

I put people who knew each other before my wedding. My parents had all their friends over at different times to see who got along with who....I was at a wedding where we were all mixed up and I did not have a good time not knowing anyone....

My cousin tried the mix people up approach and everyone hated it!

We seated people together that knew each other whenever possible. Even though they knew each other, it doesn't mean they get to see each other that much - so they appreciated the chance to socialize with friends and family.

Though people didn't sit much at my wedding

I would say definately go with seating people with people they know. That is what we did and asa guest I would rather be seated with people I know.

I agree! Definitely seat people who know each other together, especially family. And if your family is anything like mine, you wouldn't hear the end of it if you sat them with, G-d forbid, 'strangers'!!

MUST seat people together who know eachotehr. Imagine spending four hours sitting next to people you don't know!

Here's another vote for sitting groups together who know each other. Of course, you might have some odds and ends you can't work out, so you may be forced to have some 'mixed' tables .. just try to make sure you don't isolate anyone .. if you have to, for spacing purposes, say on a table of 8 make sure you have a group of 4 with a group of 4.

Absolutely put people together who know each other. Don't use your wedding as a forum to mingle your families and friends that don't know each other. Most people don't come to weddings to meet new people but to have fun and celebrate with you with the people they know. Guests will much happier this way and it will make for a better wedding. Good luck.

Thanks everyone!
That's what I thought!
I wouldn't have as good a time if I was mixed up either.
Don't know where FH got this idea. I guess he is more social than me!!
Thanks again!
