I need help from the 'gamers'....

I am baffled about the platforms. DH is making googly eyes over some of the games out there now, but we don't have a system to play them on (as I keep reminding him). ANyhoo he's been adorable and I want to give him a little prezzie for being so cute during my first trimester when I felt like poo.
He would be interested in any kind of UFC, Ninja, or 'military' inspired games.

So do I get him an

XBOX (360?)
Wiiiiiiiii or whatever its called?
Playstation?

Anyone have any opinion? And I know I'm about to lose him to the games forever

playstation 3 i would say it has the blue ray crap on it lol so you dont have to go out and buy a blue ray dvd. at least thats what dh says. my brother has x box and loves it but now wants playstation cause thats like the HOT thing going around

We have all three game systems...yes, DH and I are both gamers. IMO, X-box 360 has more games out right now and they have more of the good games that your DH may like (i.e. Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, Gears of War, etc). The Wii is so much fun but not really for shooter or military style games and PS3 does have the blue ray which is awesome but there just aren't enough good games out for the system yet. JMO, but I would definitely say get the X-Box 360.

steve has the playstation 3... and i seriously have to drag him kicking and screaming away from it!

i know our steves have similar interests, so that might be a gaming system that he'd like

DH also has all the games systems and he seems to loves the Wii but for the games you are suggesting I would get the XBox. they have military type games like Call of Duty he might love and also it had a built in DVD player too.

We have two Xbox360s. We find there are more games available for them than the others thus far. I like dance dance revolution b/c it has an exercise/weight loss mode, but I am also addicted to the puzzle games-- hexic, tetris, etc.

DH is one of those hardcore gamers.... he only does PC games (the graphics are lightyears ahead of consoles).... however, you need a rockin' computer for that.... DH, being the determined turbo-geek that he is, built his own

but, if you DO have a gaming-quality computer (or a tower with a very good processor, that you can upgrade the graphics card for) I think you could consider the computer gaming option too

the real question is which games is DH attracted to? Get the set-up which matches most of them

PS3 is awesome. And it has the BluRay player. Call of Duty is an awesome war game and he can play online. I think online play with the xbox you have to pay for.

We just got a Wii and we play everyday... it's a lot of fun, but then again we have 3 games

I have yet to try out any other games...

I know DH wants a PS3 but it's about $450 and that's alot considering I just spent about that on the Wii and the games.. so he can't have both right now..

But I'd go for PS3 bc when we can, we are all over that too!!!

this thread makes me wanna get rid of PS2 and get PS3 or XBox!!! I hate that we can't download new songs to Rock Band! I feel like we're so behind the rest of the world...like we're still playing Atari or Colecovision!
