I need help newlyweds! What priest did you use for your outdoor wedding?

Hi ladies!

I am in a huge bind! I am getting married on ONE MONTH and I have decided to switch priests. I found out some negatives things about the priest I booked and I also spoke to him last night an found out he has a wedding RIGHT before mine and RIGHT after mine, by less than an hour. I am afraid he is going to rush through our wedding and I don't want that (that is what I heard he does because he books so many weddings in one day)!

This is a nightmare! The ceremony is suppose to be the most importnat part. Between my FI and I we have three small children (from our previous marriages) and we don't want a priest to come in and make them feel rused.

Please, any suggestions would be wonderful!!

Thanks!

Christine

We didn't get married outside- but we got married on site- we didn't have a Priest though (as far as I understood Priests can only perform sanctified RC marriage ceremonies within the confine of the church.

With that said, we used a Methodist Minister, Reverend Najarian- he works out of CW Post as a Professor of either Philosophy or Religion (don't remember).. you can find him there.

Re: I need help newlyweds! What priest did you use for your outdoor wedding?

don't want to get my guy in trouble...
we had Monsigneur Lisante perform our ceremony at Fox Hollow. He is in the rockville center diocese..and was able to work around the 'get married in a santified church' thing by telling us we were not in his diocese..and not to mention anything to the Bishop (yeah, like we would even KNOW who that is!)

he is located at the St Thomas the Apostle Church...in rockville center.
TGry giving them a call and see if he has your date available. He books up quickly...and he is really a great and nice guy.

best of luck!

Hey Chris
We had Father Joe Voctor marry us. He was a catholic priest but not 'roman catholic' There's a small divison of Catholisim that can do marriage cermeonies othside the church, and they are permitted to get married themselves. Father Joe was very nice and even came to our apt. to go over the ceremony, and explain his beliefs to assure the aligned with ours. FM me for his number.

We had Fr. Jim marry us ... a retired priest. He was fabulous and I'm so glad we used him. Do a search and you'll get my posts on this topic and his number. If you can't find it, let me know!
Good Luck!

I used Reverend Vincent Sica. He was FABULOUS!!! One of the best choices I made for the whole wedding! Everyone commented on the beautiful ceremony.

He's a retired catholic priest, a Franciscan I believe. Simply amazing!!

I can give you his info if you like. FM me.

Re: I need help newlyweds! What priest did you use for your outdoor wedding?

FYI...I had a friend who could not be married in a Catholic church since her husband was divorced...so she had a presbyterian minister...a few months later, she received a letter from DRC saying that her marriage could be sanctioned...

I think since recent events they are a bit more liberal to keep members...

just something to look into
