I took my class on a field trip to a farm today IN QUEENS (a 45 minute bus ride ), IN THE RAIN!!! We were all soaking wet, my bangs were dripping into my eyes, and everyone was covered in mud. Oh yeah, and my cell phone broke while we were there. The kids had a GREAT time, but it was the WORST day of my teaching career.

LOL, about 'QUEENS'!! You don't like it there?? My mommy lives right down the block from the Queens County Farm Museum (which is where I assume you went - the only farm in Queens that I know of!) I used to love it (not) when the wind would catch the manure *just* right in the summertime.

Kathi, I have nothing against Queens, but I work on LI, where we have a zillion farms and petting zoos... Why the he// we are schleping 255 5 year olds 45 minutes away is beyond me! The ride is long, and on my bus alone we had 2 pukers.

JennRenee... I was just teasin'. The farm is the same. I've always called it the QCFM, not Green Meadow.

UGH What a day to go to a farm ! Im surprised they didnt reschedule it ? Who makes decisions on field trips? I thought each teacher chose their field trip plans? It really is strange that they planned in in Queens when there are so many right around here !
