Ok, so I read online that etiquette says not to send a pre-printed thank you - I was going to order classy ones that had our names printed inside like 'Love, Jennifer and Thomas'...and jot down a personalized note if the person gave us something very meaningful or generous - what do you think?
Did you have a printed thank you?
Did you hand write them?
And any good websites to order them from?

we ordered pre printed from a favor place but I signed our names and added a note depending on who we were sending it to some people I added nothing and just wrote love tammy and craig I think we ordered birchcraft

We had custom made thank you cards to match our invites. They were preprinted inside with 'Love, Jodi & John' and then we handwrote the Thank You note inside.

Here is a bunch of things to write for the 1st paragraph..
We thank you most sincerely for your very generous gift. Both the thought and the gift are much appreciated.
We wish to thank you for the very generous gift. Your gift, thoughts and kind wishes will always be remembered.
You have tuly enhanced our happiness with your thoughtful gift. Thank you for giving us a lasting memory of your kindeness and generosity.
2nd paragraph... We sincerely thank you for sharing with us the sweet moments of our wedding day. Words can never tell the joy that is ours today, knowing you've shared in the beginning of our life together.
Thank you for adding to the joyful spirit of our wedding day with your presence and lovely gift.
Thank you for adding to the lovely memories of our special day and for your very thoughtful gift.

I'm a supporter of this piece of ettiquette...I think a handwritten note is necessary...these people spent their hard earned moeny on a gift for you and all it takes is less than 5 minutes to write a thank you...I feel its the least I could do

totally agree....I personalized each and every thank you note and hand wrote them.

you are right....so the best thing for me to do is just get plain thank yous (well, not plain but no printing inside) and hand write them....that's what I will do.
thank you I feel so late!!
One lady even sent us a Christmas card that said 'So what happened to my wedding picture?' (implying in other words where is my thank you!! grrr )

We're having a thank you card printed (by our photographer - sorry, pic came out so small) There's nothing wrong with having one printed; i think it's more personal when you include some of your wedding photos that most of your guests would not otherwise get a chance to see. Plus, we are giving a wallet photo inside the thank you, so we can write a personal message on the back of that if we choose.

We preprinted our names on teh bottom of the card (printed, not signed) as sort of an inside joke. But I still signed our cards.
