i received a bridal shower invitation in the mail today...really cute..the theme is pink and black so that card was pretty but as i was reading the poem to invite us ..
at the bottom it said
*** As per the bride's request, all gifts are to be limited to lingerie. Sizes: Bra- 34B Underwear- small or size 4 Babydolls- Small
Please include a gift-receipt with your gift.
was i wrong to be like ....??? ive never received a card that bluntly states that... i mean i could have understood if she said where her bridal registry was...or it was a LINGERIE THEME shower....but this was so overt...i dont know what ot make of it... her friend is hosting it, but im SURE she ( the bride to be) so this card first and approved it....

but don't be so sure that the bride approved this. my whole bridal shower was a surprise. I didn't have a clue when, where, what etc.....This could totally be the MOH's requests.

i think calling it a 'lingerie shower' would have been enough. i went to a lingerie shower once and all the gifts were the right size etc.

But mMYBE (plaign devils advocate as usual) the person(s) hostingit were not sure people would understand if they simply called things a lingerie shower?
I know at my BS the majority of my guests were over 35 and were shocked my MIL gave me lingeries so maybe they just wanted to be cear t void embrassing quesions like older relatives calling up and asking 'Is a THONG lingerie? What size are her boobs do you think? Marcy is a small ad she's alot bigger tha hers. ALl the boys like to wach when she jogs by.'

I agree.......I would be also....I guess if it's a theme shower they should be clear in the invite not at the bottom like it's hiding.

but if you want to go the candy lingerie route, the place we ordered our chocolate sea shells from has a lot of, ahem, adult items.
