Hey all - just wanted to drop in before bed to tell you I survived! I absolutely loved it and we are already planning our next trip!
Friday we drove upstate, set up, had an awesome BBQ dinner and then sat around drinking beer around the fire. I had my first smore! It was very exciting.
Sunday we got SOAKED, made an awesoe egg breakfast and then went rafting. The river is S L O W it took us SIX hours to go 11 miles. But that was okay because I drank about 8 beers LOL Nothing screams WHITE TRASH like floating down a river in a raft drinking cans of Miller everytime i got out for a swim it took all three guys to get me back in - i couldnt stop giggling!! we had another great meal and then more hours of fire PLUS beer PLUS smores = heaven.
Sunday we cleaned up and then went to a diner on the way home
I LOVED IT! I loved the fire and sleeping in a tent and hearing the creek as I fell asleep and seeing SO MANY STARS!!
The highlight of my trip was on Saturday night, I REALLY had to pee so I woke up DH so he could walk me. He sits up, opens his eyes looks at me and says 'shhh its okay just pee in this - I wont tel anyone' and HANDS ME HIS PILLOW!!!!
he talks and walks in his sleep so i just had to laugh and gave up trying to wake him!

that's awesome! DH and I are going next weekend with his family - camping and rafting - ain't nothin wrong with drinking beer as you float down the river!!

I am glad you guys had a great time. Was the site itself as nice as it looked on the website.
It was beautiful. We were right on a creek and they had a nice clearing for us. We had two campsites so one was for our cars and for the tents and the other one was for the picnic tables and our campfire. It was very clean and peaceful.
However, the bathrooms We are going to return there next year with our friends because it was only two days and we could deal with it BUT I said I really would love to go for a week if we find a place with DECENT bathrooms - I mean, its not like I am expecting something posh, just SOMEWHAT clean!!

haha I am glad you had fun. I love camping but just to let you know there are no clean bathrooms anywhere. They are all disgusting haha but thats part of the fun. And I can't believe you never had a smore before. They are my favorite part of camping

YAY!! Have you looked into KOA (Kampgrounds of America). We've camped at some of them. The bathrooms arent THAT bad. They have campgrounds all over.
glad you had fun Tilde!! where was the campgrounds? my sis went camping too this past weekend that would be funny if you were at the same campsite!!! when me & Mike used to go we camped at Hidden Valley near Kingston.

Thanks! Dh and I are changing our first anniversary trip to a camping trip in Florida - so I will look into those. I think that is where DH used to go with his family when he was younger too!
