I think one of my 4th graders wants to be a music teacher!

OMG I was so touched. I came to school feeling really down (have been every morning- the honeymoon's over in more ways than one- I'm no longer the new teacher so it's not as exciting and I just HATE waking up in the morning)...and the morning classes went pretty well, thank God, to lift me out of the dungeon.

Just finished 4th grade and as I'm putting things away, one of my sweetest students is just hanging around watching me. Then she asks- what inspired you to become a music teacher? I gave her a quick answer and told her we could talk more about it later.

I thought that was an AMAZING and thoughtful question coming from a 4th grader...and it just inspired ME!! That was the light I just needed to feel excited about my job again.

Just had to share. I can't even tell you how much I needed that!!

That's great you must be a wonderful teacher!!! The honeymoon may be over but think of all the fun and exciting things coming up and not having as much stress!!!

My music teacher in elementary school was about 60 years old and a nasty nun. Her last name was Sherman. The kids used to chant 'kill the shoe' 'kill the shoe' when she was around so you must be doing something right.
