So DH and I have a gift card we got as a wedding gift and wouldlike to use it to get either the kitchenaid ice cream maker attachment or towards the cuisinart ice cream maker. Both are the same price at Bloomingdales right now. But which is better? Anyone use either of these? I already have the kitchenaid stand, so the attachment would just go along with it, but Im wondering if an actual ice cream maker would be better...
any thoughts or suggestions?

We have the cuisinart and LOVE IT!!!!! It even has these candy slots for 3 diff types of topping when you turn one or all on it blends it in your icecream like a blizzard. DH loves the vanilla it makes.

yeahh i have this one too and so far i like it but i wouldnt say i LOVE it only because the recipe it came with for vanilla tastes like meled whipped cream (not that thats a bad thing!!) i just found it didnt freeze very well...like the ice cream was soup 2 mins after you got it out! but maybe i just havent got it down pat yet

i am brand loyal so if it were my choice, I'd go with the Cuisinart.

I have the Kitchenaid attachment and I'm very happy with it - plus, it's not another appliance hanging around! I have made some YUMMY creations. I have had the other before, and it take up more space. Of course, some people don't have tiny apartments like me... Good luck!

I have the Cuisinart ice cream maker and it works really well but I've also used the Kitchen aid attachment and it makes the most fluffy ice cream. I did it on the 2nd speed on the KA and it turns out great. I would definitely recommend that one for ice cream and space saving issues. You can always keep the bowl in the freezer. Happy ice cream making!

I've found that too. I put it in the freezer to set for like 10 minutes and it's the right consistency. Good luck!

Re: ice cream makers
thank you ladies! I think we may go with the kitchen aid attachment. I read that you can change the speed and control the consistency better- plus we do have the space issue some of you mentioned. I appreciate everyones comments!
