How is the house-hunting going with everyone else?
It is a large, but older home. I think they were originally asking around $800K...I'm not sure if their asking price is still the same, since the house has been on the market for almost one year.

As I said in my post, that was their original asking price. But, that was almost a year ago when they first listed the house.
Since then, they really haven't had much interest (probably b/c of the price) and it's likely that they've come down significantly.
I can't get a hold of my friend until tomorrow. I'll let you know if the price is more reasonable. It's a really nice house - beautiful central staircase, 4 BR's two and 1/2 baths, with a maid's quarters above the garage - which could double as private guest quarters, since not many of us can afford a live-in maid!!! :)
However, we could NEVER afford 800K..I am married to a NYC Fireman..lucky if we can afford 200
came down almost $400,000 we couldn't afford.
I wish....
