If you could have a second wedding...

If you could have a second wedding...

What would it look like? You would have a similar budget to what you had for your first wedding (LOL cause if we could have a budgetless dream wedding we would go all out!)

-Colors?
-Themes?
-Venue?
-Etc.

Mine would be in the Spring or the VEY early fall and would be pink and plack and polka dots!

Dresses would either be black with hot pink sashes or hot pink with blcck sashesand the girls would all wear black polka dot strappy sandals much like my Day Of shoes. Guys would be in black tuxes with black vests and hot pink ties.

Flowers would be hot pink and white roses with black ribbons around the handles. They would also all carry parasols.

The venue would be outdoors-similar to jess's wedding by the water, or ina garden somewhere.

CP would be simple roses in glass bowls set close to the table-low arrangements.

And I would TOTALLY change my DRESS!!!! Still hate the one I wore lol. It would have been a little morer princessy-A Maggie Sottero or Pronovias. And I would weara pink flower and feather hairpiece instead with a veil.

Re: If you could have a second wedding...

Good question.
I liked everything about my wedding, but I had to make some concessions because of budget.

I really wanted my wedding at a certail location, but there was no way we could work that into the budget.
For the second time, I think I would go smaller and try to book something different, like the Glen Cove Mansion or DeSeversky center, maybe do an extended cocktail party with dessert instead of the traditional dinner.

The biggest difference would be that I would have an evening wedding instead of daytime, and have pics taken outside of the RH, like at the Arboretum or Old Westbury Gardens.
We lost out because of time constraints and also because of the weather - it poured and we really counld not utilize the outside facilitiess. We did manage to get a few outdoor shots towards the end of the wedding but by that time I no longer had my veil on. Forgot to put it on.

Other than that, loved my dress, loved my colors, loved the time of year.

Re: If you could have a second wedding...

Interesting question, Jess.

I kind of have this opportunity now, since I'm completely planning my friend's wedding, and she doesn't have the time to consider the options. She's completely relying on my opinion. Her wedding will be on Christmas (winter theme) and I'm checking out the gowns, favors, flowers, video and photo, etc.
It's fun because I get to plan a second wedding, and this time do it better.

I'd definitely get a sexier dress if I had the opportunity to do it all over again. And I'd change my hairstyle to make it more modern. Otherwise, I think I was happy with my wedding.

I would just about everything the same...maybe I would spend more time picking flowers...make them more unique, I would DIY my invitations (b/c I hate mine) but not much would change. I would still have it at CB-why change a good thing everyone raved about...otherwise I wouldnt change too much.

OH and I would splurge for the 4k dress I wanted but just couldnt see spending the money on

Re: If you could have a second wedding...

ooOOooo - this is a fun thread! Well - i absolutely LOVED my wedding...if i could do it all over again I'd do it all the same. BUT - just for fun...

Originally, I was going to do a fall wedding. Probably would have if the timing was a little different. I wanted everything very rustic - and we would've gotten married in an outdoor chapel that we actually found in the woods behind a church.. incase of bad weather the inside of the church was just as cool... Would've gotten long wavy extensions too & wore my hair down(semi-half up)....probably would've gone with one of my other top choice gowns - which was pretty much all lace applicee with more of a slim a-line skirt(think jessica simpsons wedding gown but less poffy - more tight fitted??) with cap sleeves...centerpieces would've still been candelabras but more rustic.

other option - spring wedding with everything light light pink. centerpieces probably would've been low clear(possibly square) vases with pale pink peonies w/stems...hair up - sleek & elegant still with poofy strapless gown.

Like i said though - if i could do it all over again - i still probably would've done everything i did AGAIN. i loved my wedding & felt it was really unique

...and i would've spent more time being specific with MY bo-k. i spent so much time with all the other flowers but my own! would've spent more time being more specific about my photos too - i absolutely LOVE my photos...but we dont have many portraits where u can see my dress...besides coming down the aisle, the only one i have is gorgous but i'm not wearing my veil...

Re: If you could have a second wedding...

I really like my dress, so I definetly wouldn't change that. I would probably change my wedding to early December or after Christmas and have a holiday theme. Maybe change to color of the girls dresses to a deep hunter green. I would keep the guys in a black tux, but would change the vest color to match the girls dresses. There are alot of clever DIY's for a December wedding.

Re: If you could have a second wedding...

I have to say, I loved my wedding and put SO much thought and planning into everything that I wouldn't change a thing. HOWEVER, I think that if I had chosen different things (color scheme, time of year, etc), I still would have loved it and been happy with everything - this is because I love so many different things!!!!! I could totally see myself having a light pink themed wedding! With pink hydrangeas and mauve/pink calla lilly's. In the late spring or early summer (winter and summer would be out). I could even see myself at a destination style location, which is what I originally wanted but decided against b/c of costs to guests. But there are SO MANY beautiful things out there that I love and I think that if I had gone with another theme, etc., I would still have been so happy.

yep - this is what i was trying to say. I think when u put the thought & detail into everything it's beautiful...which is why all of our weddings are so unique! I absolutely LOVED my wedding...would do the exact same thing all over again - but had i gone with another season/theme, i would've probably loved it just as much there are so many beautiful ideas out there

Re: If you could have a second wedding...

I loved our wedding too cause it was OURS BUUUT there were a lot of things I wanted to do that didnt work with our original theme so I though it would be fun to say what we'd have done differently if we could do it all over. I find Ive learned so much since my wedding by seeing what other brides did.

I would have done the Jessica Alba veil also-birdacge in front with a long silk/chiffon veil in back.

Hmm...loved my wedding but if I could do it over again, would go small and intimate outside on a vineyard. I would want very Martha Stewart-like rustic decor. Not sure about colors.

Re: If you could have a second wedding...

i wouldnt really change anything except for my flowers... i wasnt to into them in the planning process and just went with the first few things that came to mind...I also put way too much trust into my florist.. probably would have picked someone else or been more of a control freak on that one...

other than that i would ask that if time would go super slow instead of flying by!! (i know thats impossible but thats what i really would have loved!)

Re: If you could have a second wedding...

I would have had a destination wedding to the Bahamas (Sandles Resort). I would invite my family and some friends. It would be low key. I would wear a summer dress in white and carry gerber daisy's. Joe would wear linen pants and a white button up shirt. It would be a preston bailey wedding, but i'm not sure which collection I would pick. We would stay for 7-9 days.....I love to dream about this

Re: If you could have a second wedding...

I loved my wedding.. Everything about it was as I imagined it to be...

BUT.... if I had to plan another one... I would want a destination wedding on the beach with a fitted yet flowy dress and flowers in my hair!!!

I'd still want the flowers to be classic white.. but the girls would be in chiffon tea length dresses in a soft blue color... and the guys would be in button down white shirts with the sleeves rolled up and black pants (I hate khaki's).. and barefoot!!!!

Re: If you could have a second wedding...

what I would want different?
Everything was perfect. I am a little bit sorry we did not get a videographer cause as much as people warn you to take everything in it's just too much. I would have liked to see what I missed and just don't remember!
And we should have taken a better look at all the food and tasted more. The bridal attendant sat us down and got us food and so many people stopped at our table that I talked more and had little time to eat and the food was so so so good. so was the champagne and again I was around and about so much only had it at our toast. So more food and drink at the 'do over' wedding.

Other than that it was perfect. NOw I'm playing on the PC with movie maker to make slide shows from our proofs so it's keeping the memories going a little longer.

Re: If you could have a second wedding...

Everything was really perfect, but I might go for a dress that was a little more daring. Don't get me wrong; I LOVED my dress, but I might have gone for a strapless mermaid instead... And I know I shouldn't dwell on it, but I'd change my MIL's dress or at least that she wouldn't have worn a white lace jacket, over a spring dress in the winter.
