Okay...for some reason I just cant get my hair to do this.
Anyone who wears their hair similar to this....do you do it with a curling iron, hot rollers, or what???? Everytime I try with a curling iron, I just make a mess of it My hair needs a lot of hairspray normally to stay curled so it never looks silky and pretty like this when its done I just want to know the secret that everyone else apparently knows when it comes to getting your hair to look amazing!!!

that looks really nice.
They only way I get a nice soft wave- is if I put my hair in a low bun and let it dry that way.

My little sister does her hair like that and uses a 1.5 inch curling iron and does big sections. She can also do it with a round brush and a blow dryer. Hope that helps

Hmmm...I think I might try the round brush with the blowdryer. The curling iron never works for me so im giving up on it

I'm in your boat!!! Wish I could help! I actually tried it for the first time last week and it was a disaster!!!! My hair looked like a frizzy mess and because I used so much damn hairspray it was 'crunchy' too instead of soft and silky!!! Let me know if you figure out the mystery!!!

Try taking the round brush twirling the ends as if you were putting spaghetti on a fork as you blow-dry with the dryer as hot as it goes. This usually works well... especially if your hair is a little thicker.

same for me. leaving it in a wet bun will do it, or its in a bun and then the steam of a shower or bath will do it too. the problem with a bun though is that you only get what's twisted to curl or wave. the top of your strands will be straight still, but then you could iron it.

You can use a curling iron, but here's the trick:
When you are done with the curl, release it from the iron but HOLD IT in your hand until it cools. Put the palm of your hand under the iron as you release & literally cup the curl for a few seconds until it's not hot anymore. THEN let go & spray
You can also take a bobby pin & wind the finished curl up & pin it until you are done. when you are ready to go out, release the pins.

I know i have curly hair but when my hair lady blows it straight she uses literally about 8 huge curling brushes in my hair to make a wave.....she dries one section and leaves the brush in that section & then moves on...so on and so on....I look like an idiot but it works!

Re: If you're good with hair, like to look at hair, if you HAVE hair...come in! I need help.
i use a big fat curling iron & do sections.....i DONT spray untill the very end.. i'll do my entire head w/the curling iron sections so by the time i'm done they're relaxed curls..as opposed to looking like a) a frizzy mess or b) like i made banana curls & never brushed it out.lol
so anyways, i'll curl my whole head in sections...at the end, i'll use texturizing foam/creme(NOT pomade or wax..this will weigh it down - usually a texturizing foam) and scrunch...THEN i'll go over it and spray.
hopefully this helps????

the cooling time is the most impt step
thats why blowdryers have a cool shot
if you use a brush,,blow it as hot as it will get..then hold the cool shot on it for a few seconds..then realease..cool locks the ions in for smoothness and shine
same thing with a curling iron i have one that goes from cool to hot in 15 seconds and cools back down in the same time..so i hold the curl with the heat..then shut it off..hile its still in the iron it cools it off and then it sets
and make sure you use setting lotion/or spray to each section as you do it
