There is one family that I have been close with since forever, and I didnt get a gift, card, nada from them. Both parents are PhDs, the girl I have been friends with since elementary school and I DONT think they would stiff me. Should I ask them 'did you get me anything?'

hmmm. Well, it's been 2 months already for you. I know we had a couple gifts arrive about a month or so after our wedding.
And, they did attend your wedding?
I'm thinking that maybe you could mention how happy you are that you're done with your thank you cards and sent them out a few weeks ago (even if this isn't the case, they'll realize that they didn't get a card from you). Then, maybe they'll say, 'hey did you get our gift?'

According to etiquette, people have up to a year to give wedding gifts....so they might be planning to send something, but haven't been able to yet.
I would send a thank you to them thanking them for coming....but don't mention a gift on the card. If they got you a gift and you don't mention it, perhaps they'll realize you never got the gift, or inquire if you got the gift or not.
I wouldn't say anything to them though...if they didn't get you somehting, that coul dbe seen as tacky.

I had a few people on my DH's side that I didn't recieve gifts from. And since i didn't want to ask them, I just wrote the card out thank you for coming...etc. I figured if they had gotten me a gift and it got lost maybe they would have realized something was wrong and then mentioned it to me since i didn't thank them for the gift.

That is a sticky situation. I wouldn't say anything personally. I waited 8 months for a friend to give me a gift b/c the day of my wedding she left her check book home. I'm sure they'll send you something soon.

I would mention something to your friend. Just casually say that your doing your thank you cards and you realizing that you never got a card from her parents and you were just hoping that you didn't misplace it. Let her handle it from there.
