Im going on a cruise!!!!!!!!!! (but i have a question)

DH booked a cruise for us over our feb break but i never changed my name on my passport

I still have my old licence with my maiden name, can i just use that with my passport and pretend that im not married?

If not how do i change the name on my passport within 3 weeks?

I don't know about much else, but I know that your ID has to match your reservation name but i'm wondering if you just brought a copy of your marriage license with your passport (maiden name) and new license (married name) with you if that would be good enough. Call the cruise line and ask to be sure.

I just dont want to get into trouble if they like scan something and my new licence comes up and im trying to use my old one of something

Oh honestly I think you are fine...as long as your passport names matches the reservation, you are good to go. You don't even need your license if you have your passport.

You are going to have so much fun. Soooo jealous...I love cruises.

Right after the wedding I travelled within the states with my old license (which had a hole punched in it when they issued the new one) and under my maiden name. They didnt scan anything. Dont say anything either like 'this is my maident name' they will raise an eye and get annoying on you. Just make sure your old license isnt expired.

Jenise! I just returned from my cruise. They only checked that my passport matched my ticket... so you should be fine. You dont even need a license at all.

What I did when I flew was did Elizabeth Maiden Married...that way both names were there...can you change the reservation to your madien and married name and then have your id? I think that would work

You only need your passport -- they won't ask for your DL. Your reservation name and id have to have the same name. Doesn't matter if it maiden or married.

just be up front with them and say you didnt change your name on your passport, and since your dh booked in your maiden name then they'll want to see your maiden name anyways. Ive had to explain a few times i didnt change name on everything and everybody understands.

All theyll look at is your passport, they wont ask to see a license

You shouldn't have to say anything at all acutally - your airline ticket and cruise tixkets must have the SAME name as on your passport. If they match, you're all good, no need to say anything or show them anything else. Your passport is the ID required for traveling internationally, so you do not have to show them something else.

Now, if you had booked with your married name and had your maiden on your passport, that would be an issue as technically they are NOT supposed to accept a marriage license so you would prob have had to rush to get a new passport with the married name. But sounds like you're good!

OOH not sure how to do it. I have the link for the change of name on a passport but I think it takes a while! Maybe you can call and see if they can expedite it?

BTW, where are you going? What ports and what cruise line are you going with?
