I'm SO upset about Richie Sambora...

Well you ladies know what a huge Bon Jovi fan I am. And Richie was always my fave from day one. He's a sweetheart too- I met him and it was back when he was married to Heather- all he could do was gush about her. You can tell he has the hugest heart.

But WOW...his daughter and another juvenile may have been in the car with him. This is BAD.

I'm so heartsick over this....it's so hard to see a childhood hero of yours fall like this. He's been such a mess ever since the divorce and especially the death of his father. Oh God he has to get it together....

I sort of defended him on LIF...I hope I don't get reamed for that. The poor guy has a disease and needs SERIOUS help and I would imagine it KILLS him right now that he put his daughter in danger.

It scares me how f'd he is right now. There goes the rest of Bon Jovi's tour too.

Don't feel bad, just say it! I just had to get it out, it's just a really terrible situation. I hate feeling bad for the guy, but I do.

If I was a huge fan I would be upset too. If any of my idols did this it would be upsetting because of what they mean to me and also because I feel like I know them where as a non fan just reads this news and thinks what a wanker he is.

Making bad choices doesn't make someone a bad person. Thank God no one was hurt. This may be a good thing for him. He has already gone to rehab but this may scare him into making better decisions.

If the things I read today are true it was a DUI not a DWI and though I wont even have a drink and drive yet alone with my kids in the car...Driving under the influance is somthing a lot of people do every day.....a person who had two drinks with dinner can be considered 'DUI'

That is all very true. Good point. We'll see how this pans out but it just doesn't look good- especially being as famous as he is. And considering he HAS a drinking problem, he really shouldn't have been drinking at all.

It is upsetting, b/c I like him! Do I think its ok of course not...but it still can be upsetting and saddening b/c someone you like would drink and drive WITH his own child in the car let alone someone elses

Tara, you're NOT wrong for feeling bad; you're compassionate!!! Sad to say but if he's an active alcoholic he HAS NO CHOICE but to drink; he's powerless. YOur compassion doesn't make you wrong, it shows sensitivity; I pray that this does something for him to achieve recovery, it just might be a new 'bottom' for him, and I know he's probably in the depths of misery right now; public lynching can't do anything worse to him than what he's feeling right this moment.... I just pray this is his time to get sober

Aww Im all late...Tara you just have a caring nature and I agree with you. The man needs help and it was REALLY stupid while his kid was in the car but if he ever gets his sh*t togther he will beat himself up over the fact he could have killed his kid in a car accident. MAybe this will wake him up a little and he will start working towards gettign his life in order.

oh tara i'm so sorry but it's entirely okay to feel bad for him! i know some of the a.p.'s wrote things along the lines of 'well bottom line is he had his daughter present'...but the bottom line is, when you have a disease like that - THAT comes first, and leads to poor decision making and priorities...and that's why u CAN feel bad. This about when people get piss drunk at a party & the things that can go down.... now add that state to your life EVERY DAY. My father has been stuggleing with major drug addiction and alchohol issues for a very long time...and while he's a major a-hole, does stupid things & hurts his family, deep down I know it's nothing personal...it's because he has an addiction - so that comes first and leads to the rest...which just makes me sad. he knows he needs help and he knows the things he does are hurtful which is why he's so depressed...and thats usually the case for most people with this disease. hating him or being angry or judging him only makes things worse.. the only thing you can do is love them - because nobody can change a person - they have to change themself... it's not like this was a one time thing - thats completely different - then yes u can say 'what an idiot what was he thinking'...but if this stems from long term alcohol abuse & depression the poor guy needs help - and hopefully this was a wakeup call for him. hugs tara! i'm sorry one of ur idols let u down
