Just curious....when you got married, and all the months leading up to it, did your in laws do anything for you? Shower? Engagement party? Did they pay for any part of the wedding?

My in laws paid for a lot!!!! They paid 1/2 the engagement party, MIL paid for 1/2 my wedding dress, and they paid for our whole HM plus spending money. It was really very nice. MIL was going to pay and plan my shower, but my mom decided that she wanted to.

They paid for about 30% of the wedding expenses. It really great of them b/c they gave what they could and that's all I could ever hope for.

They paid for 33% of the wedding and the rehearsal dinner. In regards to the planning, it was difficult for them to really help since they were like 2 hours away and plus I am a control freak and had to do everything myself.

They were amazing and such a BIG help! I love my MIL and would always show her samples, trials, anything wedding related, etc., her opinion was just as important to me as my own mothers. They also contributed a significant amount of money to our wedding. They gave us money for our wedding and also gave us money towards buying a house. More than i ever expected from them.

MIL gave us final payment for photographer and made the 2nd payment for the reception hall. SHe also paid for half of the rehersal dinner with FIL - they are divorced...FIL gave a large gift which we used for anything else we still had to pay off. SO all in all In laws paid for about 1/3 of the total cost of our wedding.

Nothing- but that's okay, they're out of state. It was also the first -and probably only- wedding for their family so they wouldn't really know what to do.

My in-laws paid for the rehearsal dinner and that was it. However, the gave us a very generous wedding gift (as did my parents).

My MIL gave us a nice gif that along with my parents gift paid for almost the entire reception. We were very lucky

They paid for our favors, the rehearsal dinner and then gave us a very nice wedding gift.

They sent us on our HONEYMOON! and paid for the RD, and had a reception for us in Charleston a few months later for all of his side that couldnt come to NY!!

My inlaws are very generous. They paid for the rehearsal dinner, and the band at our wedding. They also gave us a nice chunk of $$$$ as a gift!!

My in laws paid alot and did alot. My MIL did my Bridal shower, and they bought my dress and what I wore the day of, part of the reception and they helped toward the ends when money got tight and finals were due. They also did our RD

My MIL hosted one of my bridal showers They paid for our Rehearsal Dinner Gave us a nice amount towards the wedding, but we had to use that for medical expenses instead I have the most amazing in-laws and couldn't ask for anything better. They were there to help in any way......they came down 4 days before the wedding and helped out with EVERYTHING! I am very blessed.

FIL said he was bringing us out for a small RD (just DH's brother, sister, SIL, me and FIL) and when the check came, he just stared at it. DH and I paid for it. MIL was sick and passed away shortly before our wedding. I am really sad about that. She was a great lady. So my in-laws didn't contribute much, but besides paying for half of my gown, my Mom did not contribute that much either. She is not in a financial position to do so.
