Inexpensive place to have a small party?

Hi, ladies,

Looking for a nice, inexpensive place in Nassau to throw a surprise 40th for DH later this year. Don't want to spend a fortune but want to do something special for him-he so deserves it.

Any ideas?

How many people are you looking to have? We had our RD at Piccola Bussola in Mineola and it was really delicious and pretty reasonably priced. They have a semi-private room that they split in half for 2 parties of about 25 each (long tables). In that room you're not completely separated but we had no problem with noise or anything. If you have a larger # they have a private room on the other side that has its own bathroom facilities and A/V capabilities, so if you wanted to bring special CDs to play or do a video montage you can. The contact we used was Tony. Good stuff.

Well, was thinking about 40 people. Wasn't sure if I should do a private room at a restaurant or should I do a VFW type of place & hire a dj? Was thinking with the DJ it could get expensive when we could just play our own CD's.

I will definitely check into the places you mentioned. Thank you ladies!!

Oooh , I need to know the same b/c I want to throw DH a 30th surprise party.
I'm thinking of having DH's brother make a really good playlist and we'll use the Ipod instead of a DJ.
