I just don't understand people sometimes. I will still getting responses the day before my wedding.
I had my mom follow up on my side and his mom on his side. It is so annoying but you don't want 65 extra people showing up the day of your wedding.

I'm hoping we don't have to....but I have a feeling we'll have to. Most people do!
Common courtesy goes out the window with wedding invitations!

yep - most came in about a within a week of the response date - but I say at least 20 no responses after that week. Most people were contacted via email but even after calls, about 8 people never got back to us! It's so annoying and rude. But they weren't people who were important to me so I didn't care too much.

We had to make some too.
You will probably receive a whole bunch of cards about 3 days after your RSVP date. It seems some people think that is when you are supposed to mail them

So many people didn't send back the response cards.I think it is so rude. We also had a few people say they were coming and never showed up. We just love throwing money out the window.

I think everyone goes through this. It is hard to believe, but people dont send them in sometimes. I guess after your response date, wait a week and start calling. I know a week after my response date we got alot of responses. Good luck!

I really don't understand people at all. At least on my side everybody responded but on DH side there were many that didn't respond. I hag MIL call them for me.

fh called last night to one of his friends to check the address. The guy goes: why are you wasting an invite on us, we'll tell you in person, don't even bother sending us an invite.

It's very rude is right, and half of them were family, in my case! I told my mother to call her sister and find out if her sons were coming, and if they didn't answer by the time I went to do my final payment, they were a NO and I didn't care! Not for nothing but there is no excuse whatsoever for not responding -- it's not like they have to find a stamp!!!! You either know or you don't, none of this maybe crap!
Jenn, you'll probably get a lot more by the date and right after it. Wait a few days after that and if you still don't have a good number of them, then start calling. And if you still don't get answers, put them as a NO. You're better off adding at the last minute, rather then having to 'eat' the plates at the end.

People are clueless. Unfortunately this is the not so fun part of wedding planning. I had to call people twice...and sometimes...they wanted to give me a verbal response on the phone. Hello? Are these invitations cheap? Did I address them for a week for my health?
The best thing to do is to call them. Keep reminding people that your hall needs a headcount. Good luck. Irene

I didn't think we'd have to make any calls, but we did! Well, not me, my MIL - they were all on DH's side of the family, and I didn't know these people (maybe that's why they didn't respond? )
IMO, I'd be really embarrassed if anyone ever had to call me for a reply!
