I have an iPod. DH wants one too now. Can we have two different iTunes accounts on one computer? My sister was telling me that when you plug in the new iPod to your computer, it will recognize a new iPod, and then ask you to make a playlist for that new iPod - so he won't be able to keep all his music in 'the center' of iTunes, it will all have to be in one specific playlist?? And then, can he have OTHER playlists? How does this work? I might get him one for Christmas, and I want to make sure it will work first.
TIA!

Re: iPod - iTunes question
Yes you can. I am not sure how to explain it that well but I will try:
You know with office when you start up your computer you can have more then one icon for different people? Well we set up one for me and one for my dad (my itunes is still on my parents desktop). So when I wanted to use it I just had to change users.
Does that make sense?

Re: iPod - iTunes question
what DH and I did was we added his iPod to my account. We have the same taste in music so our main Music folder has everything from his collection and mine. Under Playlists we have 2 folders 'Tom' and 'Tina'. In his folder are all of his playlists, and mine are in my folder. Its all very neat and together.

I'm embarssed to tell you that I don't have an Ipod, I have no idea how to download music to them either. My 13 yr old niece knows how to do it all and I don't.

Dont feel bad -- I finally got one because I was embarassed carrying around my diskman when I traveled.
I have had it for two years now and I still have no idea how to really use it. I just download music -- that is it.

I only got one when I started going to the gym ... and now that I haven't gone there for 3 months, it is getting dusty. We use it sometimes in the bedroom I have one of those portable speaker systems for it - and I love that,
But I hardly ever update it, and I am sick of the songs on there

don't feel bad, DH got me one a long time ago and i used it at first but havent used it in a very long time. And then somehow he had 2 and was able to exchange one and i actually didn't want the ipod anymore and exchanged it for a sony one. The reason why is bc I had a HUGE folder of songs on my computer that i wanted to just put on there and with the sony one all i had to do was copy and paste them and thats it. With the ipod i had to DL all the songs I already had which made no sense to me. I have hundreds and hundreds of songs for the longest time and i saw no point to it. And yeah doesnt matter bc i still dont use the player at all now lol.
I do DL songs for DH on his laptop and know how to do all that, its very simple once you see how its done.
