we've been married for almost 2 months and i still can't get myself to write up the thank yous...how long is it before i look ungrateful??

I havent even started and its been nearly 3 months!! I just am not in the mood!
My friend got married in July and she still hasnt sent them...no one really cares as long as they get one within 6 months. Thats how I feel at least.

I don't blame you, I think after the wedding you need like 6 months before you do anything! We still haven't finalized our album and it will be 6 mos this weekend.

Just as a warning -- I don't think you will ever be in the mood to write them! Just got to buckle down and get it over with. I think anything past 3-4 months is getting bad...

dka-are you sending pictures with your thank yous? If so, people are usually aware that takes longer.
As you know I still haven't started mine (220+ to write)....I got a call yesterday to say my pictures are ready to pick up. I will probably start mine after Dec 31st...with the intent to get them out by mid- January.
I think 3 months is about average. My brother hasn't sent his yet and he got married in August and honestly I think it is about time they got them in the mail.....

i still feel bad, but at least i am not the only one i MUST discipline myself though!!! it's like when i was in college and put off writing my papers til the very last minute...

I got married in June and sent them out in November. I actually had the pictures in Sept. , but procrastinated for 2 extra months. Once, you start, they go fast. You will have a great sense of accomplishment when they are done.

Ive started mine, do about 10-15 a night, but Im not sending them out till after the Christmas rush.

i had started a post about this a little while ago about how i dreaded writing the ty's- everyone basically said that i should ' just do it'- well i wrote them up but have yet to adddress them and buy stamps- that'll take me another month- lol !!!espeacially with the holidays.

Try to do a few a day, maybe 5 a day is a realistic goal. If you do more, great but at least that way it's not overwhelming.

Just do them AND have your DH help! My DH did his family and friends, I did mine. I addressed all the envelopes, but he had to write the cards and help stuff the envelopes. We did them over a week or so. The longer you wait the worse it gets.

I've been rushing to get mine in the mail before Christmas. I just know that my memories of our day & how everyone contributed is still fresh and I really want our Thank yous to be heartfelt & personal. As a guest I've always hated the 'thank you for your generous gift & sharing our day'. I just got them last week & I've got about 20 done. There are you few that I am leaving for last...........people that I feel I have nothing to thank for, I'm still not sure how I'll handle those. I think I'll have Rich do them.

They say three months. I sent mine out right at three months. It is alot with all the writing. I wanted to get mine out before all the holiday cards went out.

We got married July 4th, mine are all written & addressed, just need stamps... I will putt hem in the mail after christmas so they will arrive right before the 6 month mark.... It's definately a time factor, they should have been done earlier, BUT as we all know there are so many other things we need to do & are responsible for (cooking, cleaning ect!!!! )!!! We can't be superwomen & get it all done immediately, so I have stopped stressing about it & they will be out soon! They took aboout 2 weeks, every other night 5-10 at a time.

This is about the only thing I did not procrastinate on and I am the best procrastinator in the world
It was important to me to get them out before the holidays so I sat down one weekend and banged them out.
I agree 100% with the poster above that said it's a great feeling of accomplishment!!
