I'm not on it but I have known many people who were on it and this was the case. I suggest you call your Dr. to discuss. Sometimes they prescribe another medication to counteract the effects of the Metformin. Also is this a new medication. The dosage may be too hight for you. I would call the dr. your blood sugar may be too low now

Linda, I'm on two Metformin, 500 mg. each/daily. I'm ok with it, but I could not take Glucophage, because it gave me diarrhea. Sorry for the bluntness. Mary MOB

DH is on 500mg 2x/day and it does occassionally make him sick. Sometimes it causes him to have diarrhea and upset stomach...but nothing really major. What are u feeling? You should def. contact your dr. if you are experiencing too much pain/discomfort.

I was on Metformin to treat my PCOS. Yes, it made me sick. And gave me the poops. It actually made me lose weight, which was great.

BUT, Metformin boosts your fertility.. Yeah, they forgot to mention that. I was ON THE PILL (to treat my ovarian cysts) and I was told by 2 endocrinologists that I could not get pregnant the old fashioned way & guess what?

I have a 20 month old daughter.

hey girls thank you for the info, i am an insulin dependent diabetic the gave me metformin for my PCOS and to help me loose a few pounds, they informed me that it does make you more fertile, i am on birthcontrol and using back up methods! lol

I find myself getting very nausea all the time , throught the day and getting poops

i take it 3 times at day at 500mg
