Is it just me

Or are any of you having depression lately...I think its seasonal..but sometimes I feel down in the dumps...I'm lacking so much motivation to go to the gym and eat right...I really have to get myself back on track..but lately I don't know what it is..I'm super stressed out, and just feel very laid back and kind of lazy. My dh is looking for a new job and thats been worrrying me also..he's not making the money he wants to..times are really tough right now..and its got me feeling kind of depressed..any one else feel this way?

You're not alone.
I get this way too at this time of year - shorter days make me want to hibernate, the holidays are just not like what they used to be, I miss my mom so much.
There's so much to worry about, but I learned not to. Worrying does not make it any better nor will it make it go away. 'It' can be anything - the depression itself, money, work, stress, trying to please everyone.
I'm a little better this year - I slowed down a bit, everything does not have to be done right away. I still have so much to unpack and put away, but I'd rather watch the snow fall and remember how my mom and I used to walk thru it late at night when everything was quiet.
I bought a bunch of books and turned off the TV. I listen to music and read, with a nice cup of coffee.

Make a little time for yourself, and think about why you are super stressed. See what little things you can do to alleviate that stress and don't worry about it taking a long time.

Good luck to your DH in finding a good new job. In time that will happen, don't despair.

Sit, relax and breathe.
All will be fine in due time.

You are def not alone!

Every winter i feel like this...i swear its the weather! The cold gloomy days just make me depressed and i never want or have any motivation to do anything. This is why i hate the winter! As soon as spring comes im always much happier

I hope your DH finds a good job asap!!!!

Re: Is it just me

You're totally not alone...the wedding and final day of planning for it was the only thing really distracting me and making me happy. Now that it's over I'm hit with the reality of having to find a job ASAP because we really do't have any money to hold two mortgages. My place in Queens has to sell or sub-let especially now that I don't have a job. It's just a very tough financial time that we're heading into right after such a beautiful event in our lives. Sometimes it's just hard to get out of bed and I find myself being tired all the time....too much on my mind.

We'll get through this...all of us who have these tough times.

I will say that i dont think there is anything to look forward to anymore. The fact that the 09 girls are gearing up for wedding season is beyond depressing.
It is so incredibly sad that our year is over with and our weddings are that much further away.
I have no interest in anything wedding anymore.
Fortunately all other aspects have been great, dh's business is booming despite a bad economy and we are finishing up our home with decorating and furniture.
And we have a vacation planned in march.

For me it has everything to do with the holidays... I always get so sad after New Year's b/c the holiday season is over and it's just so depressing taking down the Christmas tree and putting away all the decorations.

I think right now your DH needs to be happy he has a job. Sure it's not the money he wants, but it's an income. When I started my new job, I was there a month and my immediate supervisor was laid off. She has YET to find a new job. It's very hard to find anything. Just do what you can with your spending and you will see everything will be okay. I was out of work for 2 months and it worked out. Do you have anything to look forward to that would get you motivated again? You're coming to Danielle's (Yelley) bachelorette party, right?

It's definitly not just you. I feel the same way. For some reason I have no motivation to do anything! I'm not to sure what it is either, I just feel so 'blah' lately. I have so much to look forward too and I am just lazy and my mind just isn't into things like it should be. Hopefully, it's just the weather or the season because I hate feeling like this. I'm sure we'll all feel better soon!

There is seasonal affective disorder-many people get depressed in the winter.

I totally know what you mean!

I think it's definitely the weather, but I also think it's other things (for me personally).

I feel like so many people are having babies.. and I am SOOOO happy for them.. but DH and I want to wait another year or so before we start trying.. even though we both have the itch hardcore... we want to save more $.. buy a bigger place... DH wants to switch jobs soon.. I think the itch is just driving me nuts!!!

I also feel the same way. I have NO motivation. I have gained so much weight since the wedding, and I just am going to really miss 2008. I am looking forward to the weather getting nicer again. Spring will be here before we know it...

Hey Girlie,
I am feeling the same way. I think it's a combination of not having a 'project' (wedding stuff), and the weather. I figured that I should check on here to see what's going on. It brought a smile to my face to see you here.

Feel better!
