Is it just me or...

does anyone else feel like their reception was almost a dream???
i feel like i missed out on a lot ...
Don't get me wrong.. we had an amazingggg time and i loved every minute of it....i'd do it again in a second!! but i feel like i missed seeing a lot of people and i feel like i missed some things that happened and i can barley remember certain things... ( and i only had a glass of champage..lmao)
this isn't a complaint.... i've just been asking all my guests that we've spoken to if they had a good time cause half the time i couldn't tell cause we were pulled every which way. I also felt bad cause i think there may have been a few guests who i didn't get to speak to much who i really wanted to. and we missed a lot of pics with DHs family cause they weren't there til later and we didn't want to take away from their time at the party.
but we did make sure we danced our booties off when we could
anyone else feel like it was just a blink and then boom.. time to go home???

I heard 10 different stories from 10 different people about my reception. And I gotta tell you I had no idea what they were talking about!
It's the quickest 6 hours of your life!
My dad said when my sister got married...'I wish I was a guest at the wedding and not the fater of the bride.' I didn't know what he meant. Now I find myself saying...'I wish I was a guest and not the bride.' All our guests had such a great time...and I had a blast...but I would have loved to see it from a guests perception.

It goes by so fast...can we all agree that we could just slow down those 6 hours and soak it all in?!

Totally agree with you! The other day I was told that my little 2 yr cousin was crying through the whole ceremony and someone's cell phone rang, and another guest got annoyed with those people. Thankfully I knew nothing. Everyone is saying how awesome the seafood boat was and while I saw it for a split second, and I was brought up a few shrimp, I didn't get to see everyone enjoying it. At the end of the night, I said 'those LIW girls that go to other girls weddings have the right idea, you get to enjoy much more as a guest'

honestly, yeah there were things here and there that i missed - but for about 95% of the time, i was right in there dancing and having a good time!! i was afraid of missing too much b/c of having to take pics, or saying hello to everyone, but we ended up taking family pics BEFORE CH and a little bit of the begining of CH, so we had a good 30 minutes to walk around and say hello to almost everyone @ CH... then we walked around and said hello to everyone after we ate our dinner... i think there was only about 6 tables we needed to go around to

I know what you mean!!! I feel like I missed so much. I cant remember half the night.
I remember thinking, oh no I didnt take formal pics with my dad. Then I look at the proofs and I did. I dont even remember doing that

yea I totally agree- I cant wait to see the video and see what I missed- its kind of sad how fast it passed- especially after sooo much planning!

I definitely know what you mean. DH and I wanted to see each other for the first time during the ceremony so we couldnt take any pictures before hand. We took BP during cocktail hour, and although my DJ begged me not to go table by table we did to say hello.With 240 guests that took a really long time. By the time we finished saying hello we had two performers and then we went out to take pictures. We came back for the garter toss/cake cutting. I think I danced once song in my wedding and the night was over. I wouldnt trade it in for the world bc I am more about knowing that my guests had a great time and they still rave about it. I rather sacrifice dancing and enjoying my wedding as crazy as it sounds as long as I was able to hug each and every single one of my guests.

Yes!!! I kept saying that after it was all over, I was like this was a dream, where did the time go!! Your being pulled from all different directions...cant wait for the video lol!

when DH and i were on our honeymoon and we were talking about things that happen lol it sounded like we were at different weddings lol

Thats why Im so glad we got a video. Cus you cant possibly see everything goin on. I remember a lot of my reception, but i still missed a few things. it def flew by tooooo fast!

I'm glad i'm not the only one..lol.
We took a lot of pictures before and had plenty of time..but for some reason we couldn't do pictures in the lobby (or in front of the waterfall outside CB ) before/during the CH. So in the middle of the reception ...like right after dinner they asked if we wanted to go down...but we really wanted to just enjoy what was left of the night. So we were upset we missed those and upset we missed some key family photos with DHs side, but i know we got a lot of great shots other than that!!
We danced A LOT ...but i look at the pictures and i'm like wait... so and so was dancing then too..why didn't i see them. lol. You really are in a bubble!!!
