I missed it for the first few months, but then I embraced home decorating and WOW, I think I like it better.

Use those shower gifts you got and make a HOME!!

we all went through it immediately afterwards.....it's because now you don't know what to do with yourself!

Now it's time to focus on your home, your future, and jsut enjoying your new life together!

I didn't. I was very happy to start our lives together.

I thought I would go through wedding withdrawal but I really didn't. As a matter of fact, I had to stay from the planning boards on here for awhile immediately afterwards because I just couldn't stand to hear about one more wedding related thing!

But anyway, it's very normal to go through wedding withdrawal. Some people just get it worse than others.

Not me...I really look back on the wedding with happiness and am glad it's over, went perfectly--and we can move on with our lives.

Oh no dont get me wrong, I love being married and am very happy. Im just so sad that the 'wedding' is over- it was such a beautiful day I dont want it to end. and it feels like I missed so much on that day because it goes so fast.

I was relieved that the event itself was over- it was getting stressful and I felt like, in that last week or so before, it took over our lives. I was so happy to be married and to get back to doing all the things I loved doing with DH that took a back seat during planning. I'd also started a new job less than two months before, so that only added to the stress.

I think I know what you mean... I really thought I was going to miss the planning alot because I did enjoy it alot and I LOVE planning. And I was surprised that I didn't feel more like you do now about it afterwards. So I can totally understand why you miss it. If I could do the wedding DAY over again, I certainly would, in a heartbeat. Because like you said, it goes SO fast...
But the whole planning leading up to it...no.

I posted the same thing on here the week after my wedding. I was so depressed that it was all over, I felt like 'now what?' It was a blur but my saving grace is that our day was perfect and we enjoyed every minute of it, I hope you did too! It will get easier...

Yup, it is sad when it's over. I happen to think that when we were growing up, parents were still teaching their daughters that the 'wedding day' was something to aspire to. So, once it's over, we feel like, 'now what?' 'aren't I special anymore?'

It's so funny you mentioned this. My DH sees me on the computer & asks if I'm on the wedding chat. When I respond yes, he's like 'It's over, let it go, move on...'
Obviously we are all in the same position. We loved planning it so much & we go on this site to see who else we can help cause now we feel like veterens.(semi-professionals)
So the only reason that I'm glad its over is b/c it was a perfect day. I don't miss worrying about the 'what if's'
Just think, we got through the big party so we can handle all the other events that come up in our lives. Like baby christenings, birthdays, and all those fun expensive bridal showers we have to throw for our girls.

Aww thanks girls, Im glad Im not the only one. My wedding was just beautiful and I did have a wonderful time- that is why I am so sad that it came and went too fast! and I do feel like ok now what, b/c everyday and minute was to wedding planning and I loved it. Yes the last week was stressful but I love being under the gun like that now I feel like hmmm , but I its good now I can focus that into our house and start changing - painting things I couldnt before b/c of the wedding. Start getting that 3rd bedroom ready for perhaps if I am blessed a little one! Thanks again for your support!!!

It's totally normal. I think I was depressed for 2-3 months that it was all over but then it just passes one day.
