Is it necessary to preserve your wedding gown?

Is it necessary to preserve your wedding gown?

Not sure I want to preserve my wedding gown. Not too concerned about it turning yellow. It's a champagne/vintage color as it is. However, it occurred to me that moths will get to it as it's real silk. They got to my good wool clothes up in the attic. Didn't touch the polyesther stuff though.

Is there an air tight garment bag that can do the trick? Anyone know? I may even want to try it on again and play and it's quite pricey to preserve! :)

Thanks

I've been thinking the same thing. Mine is still hanging up in the bag it came from. I really do not want to sheel out 100s of dollars to get it boxed away..

My mom thought of the vacuum sealer bags too. It cost that much to clean, eh? I thought so. I didn't even do that yet.

Maybe I can Google the preservation process and see if a vacuum sealer bag will do. I mean, do they put moth repellent on the dress? I don't think so! Prob, if it's air tight, nothing can get in. Huh.
