is it ok...

If I'm jealous of all of you who actually like their inlaws? Reading everyone's answers to the inlaw question make me a little jealous and sad that I have such reptiles for mine!

Don't feel bad! You don't get to pick your in-laws! Just your DH, and it sounds like you lucked out and got a great one!

I feel your pain though. Whenever I see posts about girls and their dads and how they get along so great I want to barf everywhere - but again, we don't get to choose!

Thanks everyone - sometimes I feel kinda bad and I know that I'm a bad daughter in law but only because they make it impossible for me to be a good one!

nope _ i'm jealous too. . used to be one of my criteria for a future spouse that he would have a good relationship with family/parents bc I wanted to be part of that. . but didn't work out that way. . DH's mother passed away a few years ago and his dad is . . well let's just say well intentioned and full of heart but. .

Mine ****! They are soooooooooooooooo blah! I have NOTHING in common with them at all. We never argue about anything and we talk about stupid nonsense just to pass time but I would never feel like they are like my 'parents' or that I could go over w/o DH there with me or call them on the phone etc.

Now his aunt & his uncle are AMAZING! I like them a lot.

OMG! I love DH's aunt & uncle. We had them over yesterday for DH's birthday and I tell his aunt all the time, I wish she was my MIL!

Ditto on that......his aunt and I went shopping in Atlantic City and she paid for part of my super glittery shower dress. She also got me a jacket from cache. She is soooooo nice! We love the same kind of white wine, we loves stuff with sparkles....on the other hand his mom wore a faded florida gators sweatshirt to a dinner we were having at PF Changs and then complained that the food was too salty.

I don't think you could pay me enough to be nice to my MIL and I know thats horrible but this woman is the devil in human form. I'm thankful that my father in law and his wife are pretty great. Honestly, I'm not jealous, but I do feel bad for DH.

Also, my mom tells me all the time its impossible to have two wonderful moms
