is it possible that my DH forgot my birthday? *UPDATE*

is it possible that my DH forgot my birthday? *UPDATE*

I'm actually a pretty regular poster on LIWeddings but I have changed my name b/c this is just SO EMBARRASSING.
I am really upset...I think my husband forgot my birthday! Is this possible?
Last week, he told me that he made reservations at a restaurant in the city, near my office. I excitedly said 'GREAT!'

He said NOTHING to me this morning....no happy birthday, nothing. I didn't say anything.....and I asked if he could please make the coffee this mornign. He said NO b/c he was running late, and he needed to eat his breakfast....and then muttered something about how he made the coffee for us over the weekend. That is when I realized that he must have forgotten.

He left the house before me this morning...I was still in the shower, and he said nothing other than 'Have a nice day.' No card, nothing.

He hasn't caled me all day....it is now almost 3:30.

I understand that my birthday is dwarfed in importance this year after a wedding, etc. But this is UNEXCUSABLE. I can't believe he would have forgotten! I am so upset Not to mention....really turned off!
Can somebody please advise?

UPDATE: Yes, he forgot.
I still can't believe it. Thanks ladies for understanding how upset I was. I tried to wait it out until 11:30, but couldn't. At 8ish, my best friend called and asked what we were doing....I couldn't even tell her what was going on I was so embarrassed. I told her that we were home and she asked if we wanted to go for a drink. I went by myself......and we had a blast! At about 9, DH called......he realized what he had done. Apparently, he had made reservations at a restaurant the week before, and they called him to see where we were. I guess he mixed up the dates?
Anyway, he called me and he was mortified.
NOT GOOD ENOUGH.
He asked me to please come home.....but I was having fun.
I stayed out until 2am with the girls. Came home and believe me.....I didn't need to tell him how I felt b/c he knew. He feels terrible.
I went to bed, and we got up this morning.....he feels terrible but I am not saying a word. He knows how I feel.
I know that in the grand scheme of things this is not a big deal, but if my own spouse can't remember my birthday.......that hurts.
I'm sure he'll try to do something nice. Whatever....I'm over it.

Maybe he's tricking you into believing that he forgot when he actually didn't.

I don't think so.....I wish that were the situation but I really don't think so. Is this what my life is going to be like?
When we dated he always remembered....how could he forget?

I will definitely NOT say anything. I will never be a miserable wife who has to remind her husband of her birthday. If he truly forgets, I will kindly remind him tonight....at 11:30.

I'll let you know what happens. I'm so upset right now that I can't even concentrate on anything else.

Happy Birthday!

no husband should ever forget a birthday.
NEVER.
And in the first year of marraige? NO WAY....he couldn't have forgotten unless he is a total idiot.

I doubt he forgot, and I'm sure he has something special planned for tonight....must be a surprise.

Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!

nope....I think he really forgot. If he were planning something......a surprise....
wouldn't he have at least made me a cup of coffee this morning, or simply said 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY.'

THIS IS REALLY BAD

Sorry but this sounds like a bunch of game playing bull to me. Why does it make you a 'miserable wife' to remind him? Sounds like you are miserable already and sitting around to 11:30 pm is just to punish him for not remembering. Don't mean to be harsh but what's the harm in saying - hey it's my b-day!!! At least you can still go out to dinner and celebrate. Yes, it ***** if he forgot but I am not a fan of the games.
I seriously hope you have a happy b-day, but if not - I believe it's partly your fault to. Sorry.

i dont' agree, if it's one person's b-day to remember it should be your spouse's. i can understand if you forget a parent's birthday but not a husband or wives.

I hate Games!!!
Esp. with a Marriage where there should be NO GAME PLAYING!!!
I think you should say something. Maybe he is planning something, but if it is bothering you soo much, you should ask him. Do not wait. Things will just build up more & more

Actually, BABYLON BRIDe, it is YOU who sounds like a miserable person to be so insensitive and disgusting.

yeah, uh, thanks. Just stating my opinion. I never said you don't have the right to be mad if he forgot....but why play the game. Be mad at me all you want. It seems awful silly to me though.

ETA: Yikes. Is this really necessary?
'Actually, BABYLON BRIDe, it is YOU who sounds like a miserable person to be so insensitive and disgusting.'
I'm quite happy thanks.
