Is it true that having the laptop on your lap is bad for you??
DH is bugging out and telling me that I cannot have the computer on my lap....he says it is bad for my health and fertility............ladies have you heard of such a thing??????????

I haven't heard of such a thing - and I do this ALL the time....maybe try doing a google search on the topic??

My husband freaks out about this but only because he says it will cause a fire!!! He yells at me all the time when I do it.

Maybe for men... laptops get hot, and having high temps next to his boys can raise their temperature and inhibit the production of healthy sperm.

I am almost positive it has to do with males - not females. It has to do with the temperature being it can get really hot and as a previous poster said with the sperm.
Other than that it is not good for the laptop in general. Technically your supposed to put the laptop on a flat surface while on your lap. They make actual cushions with a hard wood surface for this. I have one - and I never use it - just too lazy. I should know better b/c I already burnt one out.
The fan underneath the laptop is there for a reason, and when you block it , it creates problems for the laptop and It can for the male.

I never use mine without my laptop stand. It is just a peice of plastic that allows the fan to breathe - I dont want to damage the laptop and if I dont use it it will get SO HOT! I never heard of anything else though - sounds fake

I decided to ship it out Monday so I can finish up a few things during the weekend. Monday its GONE though. This thing is a mess!

No it is totally true - it was on the news for the Men actually not that long ago. Let me see if I can come up with it somewhere
and... it is totally true about burning out the fan when it is blocked - I know b/c I did it, talked to the geek squad and confirmed it. Also running games is a problem, it will run hotter. Apparently to play any internet game you really need to be using a pc.

Ok I did some research if it is radiation your husband is worried about there is not enough to be concerned about as the laptop is protected and there would be warning signs on the bottom of the notebook. Another-wards it would be common knowledge. However, they have learned from the laptop being on the lap and not getting the proper air the laptop will overheat a.) ruin the laptop b) for a man -create issues upon lowering the sperm count.
