Is this Wrong?

Is this Wrong?

one of my close friends ( who drove all the way here from GA to be at my wedding and never even got to attend cause as soon as she arrived her grandma died and had to rush home) told me the other day she got engaged and set her wedding date for November 15th of this year, which is the day after mine was last year.. So Obviously I want to go but I know that My husband wont be able to take time off of work becuase we booked a vacation just a few weeks before.
Question is.. is it wrong for me to not be home for our 1 year anniversary? I would have to leave the day off being her wedding is the following morning.
Hubby said I shouldnt worry about it and go and have fun.. I just feel bad.
She did go so out of her way to be here for me.. I also feel a bit obligated to go.
How wrong is this?
Tell me honestly
hehe
Thanks

Re: Is this Wrong?

your husband works weekends? Is that why he can't go?

Having just celebrated our 1st anniversary, I have to admit it was nice to be together on the actual day - but we celebrated all weekend.

Maybe you can celebrate a day early or leave late the day of your anniversary and have a special brunch together? I wouldn't want the whole day to go by without you sharing some special time - that would be wrong.

But I think you should go to the wedding. You can celebrate on your vacation too!

I don't think it is wrong. I think it is up to you and your DH what you are comfortable with. If this is a good friend, in all honestly, I would go to her wedding. I would fly and DH could go home the next day, maybe only taking 1 day from work.

Sharing in someone elses Joy.

Can you tell we haven't been able to go together to a wedding yet!

I think you definitely should go. You have a lifetime of anniversaries ahead of you but only one chance to be there for your friend at her wedding.

I agree that you should go. Your anniversary IS special, but as someone said, you will have many in your life, and your friend will only get married once.
Celebrate early!

I would go ... especially if she is a close friend. I would also try to celebrate your anniversary earlier or when you get back, or both. I know it's a hard decision, and you are probably feeling torn, just do what your heart says.

I would go - you can celebrate your anniversary either the weekend before or after, but your friends wedding is just that day only

I agree, I would go. If you dont go you will be thinking about being there. You have a nice vacation right after your anniversary, you can celebrate then.

I agree ... you should go. He's ok with it & you'll have a vacation just prior to your anniversary. Knock your socks off celebrating then.

I have always found that when it comes to important events, being there makes the difference. She will appreciate it so much, especially considering what happened to her on your wedding day. Feel good that you're giving your friend a special gift on her wedding day that she will always remember! YOU!

I also think you should go! Celebrate your anniversary before or after! It will mean a lot to your friend to have you there.
