My husband and I want to go away for our anniversary in April 2002 for a 5-day weekend... Any ideas? We're open to almost anywhere... We need to plan though so we're trying to get it together now:-)!!!
Thanks,
Ayanna

We are doing the same thing-- we decided to do a cruise--neither of us have been--
do you want to fly/drive? warm weather where you do nothing or someplace with lots to do?

We had planned a cruise for our 1st anniv this past Sept, but decided to cancel due to 9/11. We may reschedule for the Spring..
I strongly recommend a cruise !! (We've been on 2 already and plan to cruise our whole lives !) There are many 5 day cruises. If you do not want to fly, there are cruises to Bermuda that leave from manhattan.
A great cruise website is cruisecritic.com.
More local ideas : Cape Cod, Virginia (not so local!), Lake George..
Were you thinking local or anywhere at all?
happy planning !

We went to Myrtle Beach, SC on our honeymoon (first week of May) and had a lot of fun. It was warm and sunny - 70's & 80's. Nice Beach weather and lots of Golf if you like that. About an hour and a half drive from Charleston if you want to take a day-trip to see some old mansions. Airfare is pretty cheap and they have lots of hotel deals for the golfers.

Laura, Anna, Everyone...
Great questions... we thought that we would want to go someplace that we haven't been before... I like the cruise idea, but we cruised for our honeymoon too (& it was fabu!!!). We don't mind flying but the Lake George idea sounds nice too and we could drive there... I don't know... I think we would want someplace with not a slew of things to do so we could relax and not too expensive b/c we just bought a house too!!!
Thanks & I'm going to share your suggestions with my husband tonight... I'm open for more:-)!!

Newport, RI
We wound up spending our honeymoon there because of 9/11 but we absolutely fell in love with Newport. Wonderful place to visit. The spring will be really beautiful up there.
Also I vote for Charleston and Savannah.

Ayanna - Quest about your scroll invitation
Ayanna:
Ever since I read your post about your scroll invitations I have wanted them for my wedding. Can you give me the contact info of the people you used.
I thought about making them but I would rather buy them if possible. Can you give me a general idea of how much they cost. Thank you so much.

Jackie-Answer about the scroll invitation
Hey Jackie,
The scrolls were purchased through Michele Arwood and she is located in Georgia. She will send you a sample that you have to pay for if you do not order from her. If you do then the sample is complimentary. Unfortunately I do not have her number on me, however her email address is [email protected] and she is a SWEETIE!!! In your email please tell her that you were referred by Ayanna in Long Island NY. Each invite runs about $22-$25 per invite, depending on what you choose. Also, it may have gone up (or down) since last year this time...
Anyway, good luck and if I can be of any other help please let me know!!!
