Now that the wedding is over...on to my next planning venture...our delayed Italy honeymoon. I know a couple of the girls were to Italy and I was wondering if you booked a tour or just did your own thing? I was to Italy for three weeks in college and hit all the major sites and cities, but hubby has never been. Any opinions on those tours? Are they fun....are you better off on your own??
Thanks!!

Re: Italy Trips
We went on a tour....there are pros/cons to it but Im glad we did it this way because we would have never gotten to see 1/2 as much if we did it on our own. A priority for us was getting to see all the sites and learning a bit about the history without having to do the legwork and running around so a tour was great for us. But if you have already been to the sites, you may find the tour boring b/c its no longer a novelty for you.
Hope that helps.

Re: Italy Trips
We did our own thing...we just used a travel agent to book our flights and hotels. Basically, we travelled around a lot. The good thing was-we could come and go at our own pace and we saw a lot of stuff that might not be such a big tourist attraction-like Paestum. DH and I are also kind of private people so we preferred being in our own rented car, dining , etc.

I prefer doing in on your own. Mor elegwork involved, but I don't like getting stuck to someone else's schedule.

Re: Italy Trips
We did it on our own. It was my 3rd trip to Italy and DH's 1st. We enjoyed doing the planning together. Its very east to get around by train and so many people speak English that traveling was never a problem. Let me know if you want any recommendations.
