March is women's history month, my question to you is, who is the one woman in your life that has inspired you and how. The 2nd part of my question is if there is one woman out there dead or alive, that you could meet who would it be and why??

Re: IT'S WOMEN HISTORY MONTH
I have to say that my mom has been my inspiration. She is so strong, even when my father was so sick and almost died she kept if all together and helped the rest of us get through the hard times!
The person I would most like to meet would be Margart Sanger. She did so much for woman as far as health issues and birth control! She is truly a woman to be admired.
For those that do not know about her, or want to learn more, here is a link to her bio.
Shamma--great thread!! The woman who has inspired me the most is my Aunt Dawn. She was told she was unable to concieve but miraculously she had her first and only child when she was 42. She's a wonderful, wonderful mother to my cousin Mary and has taught me so much about raising a child in this world. She's super intelligent, and respectful of everyone. I would have loved to say my mother but she was not as strong an individual--she was the vicitm of abuse and never really recovered. But...she is the woman I'd like to meet. She passed away over 8 years ago and there's so much I would like to discuss with her now--I'd like to talk about her experiences and of course, resolve any issues we had with each other.

Lisa, thanks for the link
I guess we are in the same boat with this question. My mother is my inspiration and the person I try to make the proudest of me at all times. She was a single mother at 16 and she did everything for me to make my life the best yet. She is a wonderful mother, she is my best friend, my confidant, my buddy. I love her so much. I will be eternally greatful to her for all the sacrifices and all the things that she has done and is still doing. She has made me into the woman that I am today.
The one woman I would like to meet is Harriet Tubman, she led the underground railroad to free slaves and I would just like to say Thanks.

My mother. She is a phenomenal woman. She has sacrificed so much for her children, and brother and I love for that. She is my biggest inspiration, supporter, best friend, confidant, adviser, and mother. The other women that inspires me are my grandmother, my aunt daphne, karen, and barbara.

Re: IT'S WOMEN HISTORY MONTH
My grandmother's love, strength and soul has shaped my life and made me the person I am today. She recently passed away and I miss her deeply but am so thankful that she played a big part in my life for 27 years and will continue to do so in my mind and heart.
In the public eye, I would have to say Helen Keller. What an amazing story. The struggles and challenges she endured and overcame should be an inspiration to us all.

Re: IT'S WOMEN HISTORY MONTH
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman must be seen from her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides. The beauty of a woman Is not in a facial mole, but true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows. The beauty of a woman with passing years -- only grows
