Does anyone have any experience with IUD's whether you've had one or know anyone who has? Im off the pill and really tired of condoms. But Im a little worried about how an IUD will affect me having kids in the future.

i intially thought about it.. there are two types one of copper and something else.. but then i read that they won't insert it unless you already had a kid.. so i nixed it!

I plan on doing one after I have the perfect number of children LOL
But I would never do anything like that BEFORE having kids ( JMO ) I know the pill isnt great but the devil you know. . .and all that.

its good for after you have had a baby - i think they say you shouldnt use it if you dont have any children and want to have kids within the next 5 or 7 years or something like that.....
my FSIL got it - went to the doctor for a re-check on it and it moved or something and the doctor told her she could have gotten pregnant - she already had a baby and didnt want to get pregnant for awhile but after that happened she got it removed......she got pregnant easily afterwards......
i was at the doctors office and i heard someone getting it put in.....it sounded scary - the walls are thin at my doctors office and i could hear them - i mean the girl was nervous and crying but i heard the doctor say it was going to hurt and not to move b/c he had something really sharp in his hand.....i was afraid just eavesdropping!

yeah and also i read that they insert it when you have your period so they know that you are def. not preggo and it gets in easier.. but from what i remember when i was looking into it, i wouldn't do it before the babies in case of some scaring to the cervix or infection and stuff..

i was on the patch for awhile and i LOVED it but my doc took me off b/c there was controversy with the amount of horomones or something - it was in the news and i think they were thinking of pulling it from the market.....i never did nuva ring b/c its kind of the same concept....
now i am on a very low dose generic - my doc said that with lower dose pills you have higher change of unplanned pregnancy especially if you are overweight - like if you are overweight and miss a pill its worse than if you are regular weight and miss a pill.....he said i should still be very careful but not as risky because my weight is low - i dont know why he told me that in the first place - probably b/c i made a bad joke about how i rather use the patch even though i could die b/c its too much horomones than get preggers

I was on Yaz before but it was affecting my skin thats why I got off. What lo dose are you on?
