J Lo finally popped

NEW YORK (AP) -- Jennifer Lopez gave birth to twins early Friday, making the singer and husband Marc Anthony the parents of a boy and a girl after one of pop music's most closely watched pregnancies.

Lopez representative Simon Fields told People magazine the babies were born at 12:45 a.m. on Long Island, with the 5-pound, 7-ounce girl arriving first, followed by her 6-pound brother minutes later. .

The exact location was not identified.

'Jennifer and Marc are delighted, thrilled and over the moon,' Fields told the magazine.

Lopez' publicists and agent did not return telephone calls from The Associated Press early Friday.

Ending months of speculation, Lopez confirmed her pregnancy at a Miami, Florida, concert in November.

Her father, David Lopez, told Telefutura's 'Escandalo TV' earlier this month that the 39-year-old singer was expecting twins.

Lopez and Anthony, 38, married in 2004.

I hope the kids spit up all over her white sofas already.

I read somewhere that they were planning on naming them: Max and Emme [or Emma]. At least those are normal names, not like so many other stars!

JLo is probably already on the phone screaming things at her people. She probably doesn't understand why her babies don't have hair and she wants answers! She's also bringing hair and make-up people in to get her babies ready for their photo shoot. They can sleep when they are dead! It's money-making time.

I'm on the edge of my oatmeal bowl waiting to hear the names. Just name one of them 'Escandalo' and I'll be your biggest fan, JLo.

I'm very happy for them - I know she tried for a long time to have a baby and always wanted to be a mother. So CONGRATULATIONS to her. I think in the last few years she's REALLY toned down her Diva ways, but sometimes it's hard to live down a reputation. She's been living a very low-key life, out of the public eye for the most part - since she got married.
