Janna had me thinking....

Original post by ChrissynRicky

How many of you ladies had a 'newlywed' chop?

I ipersonally don't want to cut my hair...I didn't plan to grow it out for the wedding, but grew it out b/c I missed my long hair....

And for those that did chop your hair - did you do it as a 'new life, new change' thing, or 'I grew it out for the wedding, couldn't wait to get rid of it' or 'other'

Ha, Christine, you have to remember we have VERY different hair!!!

While yours tends to be wavy and thick (I remember you mentioned japanese straightening) mine is baby fine and thin. So anytime it gets past my shoulders, it just lies flat and is hard to make it look full unless I use rollers.

I'm a wash and go kind of gal, so I wanted something easy to deal with that would look great even if I barely did anything to it. And as for the color I was forced to change it because my hair was turning GREEN after going over my bad attempt at highlights with an ash brown.

As long as DH is happy with it, I don't care!!

I did the same thing yesterday. Chopped it off! I love it, I didn't have it cut for almost 2 years growing it out for the wedding. I am happy that it is cut and looks healthy again. YEAH! So easy too for the summer. I love it!!!!!!

I grew mine out for the wedding, and if I'd had my way it would have been chopped the next day - before the honeymoon. It ended up taking me a few weeks, but I couldn't wait to get rid of it. I just don't like myself with long hair.

I chopped my hair on my honeymoon in Mexico. It went from almost waist length to chin length. Best haircut ever!

I cut mine because it was retardedly long and I wanted to donate it...plus I was so sick of having long hair!!

I chopped as soon as I got back from the honeymoon - it felt great! Part of it was that it just felt over processed from the hair colorings and fussing with it for a year, I just wanted to start over.

Now, almost a year later, I have grown it again, almost to wedding length.

If there is ever a time for a chop - its post wedding, and pre-summer!

I cut mine about 9 inches about 6 mos after the wedding. I love it, DH prefered it long, but oh well!

I've been married a month and I have an appointment on Saturday to get 3 inches cut off and some layers thrown in. I like my long hair, but my hubby loves it layered and shorter.

I did it and I was very happy I did. Many women cut their hair after marriage and I think many do after having babies as well.

I couldn't wait to chop my hair off. My long hair was annoying me for the last few months before the wedding.

I did it! I couldn't wait! I was growing it out for the wedding, but every year (usually before summer) I cut it. My hair grows so fast and I love to change my hair, so I did it the morning after the wedding right before the honeymoon..lol. The ladies at the salon thought I was nuts!
